Many thanks to Antonina in reception, Gina, Georgina, Olga and Veronique at breakfast time for such a fantastic stay. We enjoyed the marvellous views and our cosy bedroom. Having a sauna and hot tub every afternoon before dinner was fabulous too. We hope to return

"Amazing staff, hotel expensive for what it is but fine overall"

8.0

Firstly, huge thanks to the staff at this hotel who are genuinely fantastic. Unfortunately I didn't catch their names, but every single staff member was extremely helpful and managed to get us out of a sticky situation when all our activities were cancelled by the tour organisers! The hotel itself is ok - it's expensive for what it is, but then it is in the middle of the arctic... Rooms are relatively small and sparsely decorated, but do have a fridge/coffee machine/decent shower and the beds are quite comfy. The rooms were very very warm though - had to sleep with the window open! Breakfast is decent, nothing spectacular but again not bad for the middle of the arctic. Location is fantastic, right in the middle of Longyearbyen. Be warned though that the check-in queue shortly after a flight arrives can be HUGE! One thing I wouldn't rate is the "Spa" (sauna/jacuzzi) - it's positioned as being able to take a sauna under the midnight sun, but it closes at 8pm.... and you can't just turn up for it, you need to book a slot in advance which is a bit annoying. Overall, it's decent but expensive for what it is. I do wonder if other hotels in the area offer better value - but the staff cannot be faulted and are a true credit to the Radisson brand.

"Uncomfortable Rooms and Disturbing Historical References"

4.0

The best thing about this hotel is its convenient location in Longyearbyen. Unfortunately, the rest of our experience fell short. The hotel feels quite run down, and the rooms—three in total across our stay—were very small and in need of maintenance. One aspect that really stood out, and not in a good way, was the artwork in each room. Above every bed was a large poster depicting either whaling or polar bear hunting (see pictures attached). While I understand this reflects part of Svalbard’s history, it’s a troubling choice for modern decor—especially considering how these practices are now banned and widely condemned. In today’s context of climate change and biodiversity loss, these images feel out of touch and unsettling. There’s so much incredible wildlife in Svalbard—why not celebrate that instead? A poster about polar bear behavior, Arctic ecology, or conservation efforts would be both informative and inspiring for visitors. When I brought this up politely with the front desk (Antonina), I was ridiculed, which only added to the disappointment. I hope the hotel management might consider updating this aspect of the rooms. With a few thoughtful changes, this place could offer a much more welcoming and meaningful stay.

"Great hotel while short visit in Svalbard"

10.0

It is my first time to visit svalbard. This hotel gives me nice memory about svalbard on my short visit. Warm staffs (i have to mention recepsionist name Camila and other staff in restaurant for breakfast), clean hotel, near from many attractions, including supermarket, museum is literally behind the hotel, and the bus also stop right infront of hotel. Fairly price for me. Dunno when to comeback again to Svalbard, but it such a good memories to me!
