Well, my husband and I usually have stayed at the Castlegar Super 8 over the years, as this was our home town where we both grew up. Over ther years and changed of hands, this hotel has literally gone down hill! Very disappointing actually. The staff was friendly but the hotel and rooms definitely need an over haul. The bathroom tub had a lot mold around the tub surround, the door was disgusting, look like something of a scuzy bathroom bar door. Bathroom light burn out. Top of the stove was dirty. The maid do not clean very well at all and Im a housekeeper myself of 45, and I would write them up for stuff like this or fire them for sloppy work! Pillow are Way too fat, both my husband and had a hard time sleeping on them, more like body pillows, had such a neck ache the next day and massive headache actually because my neck was so sore. It was noisey as hell, because they boomed in boy teenagers in , right across from us too. Noisey until 10pm. The floor/ ceiling above us was creaking so bad with the people walking. The breakfast bar was pretty sad, even the apples were so old. One of the guest said don't eat the oranges, they too were old and mushy. No employees (830am) came in to clean up a bit in-between guests, messy dishes piles high to the top of the sink. Very poor breakfast, Disgusting, that we dumped our coffees out and we to a restaurant to have breakfast elsewhere both days there. Unfortunately we will not be going back there to stay again! So disappointing this time round.
