Good location. Beautiful breakfast. Comfy room.

We came back to Camara de Lobos for another visit this year. Last year we stopped at the Pestana FIshermans VIllage next door. We booked a superior double room on the second floor overlooking the sea and the harbour with beautiful views across the island. The room was lovely. We had an initial issue with the shower holder not working well and after reporting this to reception, it was promptly fixed. The room was made up well on a daily basis and coffee and water replenished for us. The room was a perfect temperature. The bed was ok, pillows were a bit flat and the bed kept separating as they were 2 singles pushed together. That said, we slept ok as far as that arrangement was concerned. Where we didn’t sleep so well was when the consistent “canons” for want of another word, were consistently going off throughout the night and well into the early hours of the morning. We fully understand the traditional aspects of this and respect that this happens every year at Christmas. It did however, give us some sleepless nights. This is why we have given a score of 4 and not five. One thing where I have to say was very special, is when the hotel left a lovely bottle of wine in our room for my wife’s birthday, together with a lovely hand written card with birthday greetings. What a lovely thing to do and totally unexpected. Thank you. Breakfast
