Location is good.( Will stay directly on beach next time). Walking distance to lots of things. Lydia the concierge is the best. The construction noise was excessive. Horrible. Pools were fun. Luau was the BEST part.( no need for VIP tix tho). Not the vibe we were looking for.

We stayed here in April, and I still cannot get this hotel, or the island, out of my mind. We had the most wonderful time as a family, and I truly appreciated all of the kindness and care the staff provided throughout our stay. Patricia was so amazing, (I feel like I knew her forever) at the Kuhio Beach Grill She was incredibly kind and welcoming and made us feel so cared for each morning at breakfast as well as made sure we were comfortable during our stay navigating some things and at the Luau. We also loved seeing Toby, Melina (I hope I remembered correctly!), and the rest of the staff each morning. Everyone treated us with such warmth and hospitality that it truly felt like being welcomed into someone’s home. Even though we were so far from Massachusetts, we felt completely taken care of. The food was always fresh and delicious, and breakfast quickly became one of our favorite parts of the trip. Kevin, at the front desk went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and accommodating, and we always enjoyed speaking with him whenever we saw him. The valet and bell desk staff were also incredibly friendly and helpful. One of the things I loved most was having the cultural center right in the building. It was so special to have opportunities to learn from local artists and crafters and we even took a hula class and learned lei making. The hotel truly offers every convenience you could ever need, including two ABC stores, two Starbucks locations, lovely shops, and a beach store with float, bike, and boogie board rentals. Having beach essentials included with our stay made everything so easy. We loved the calm swimming lagoon just steps away, and the family pool was beautiful and very well maintained. The views from our room were absolutely breathtaking. Our room was huge, being a 4-bed suite and so clean and maintained amazing by housekeeping. The sunsets from Queens break Restaurant were honestly some of the best I have ever seen. We ended up eating there many times because the food, service, and atmosphere were so spectacular, calm, peaceful, and beautiful. We loved the piña coladas, the attentive and kind staff, and the live acoustic music in the evenings while watching surfers at sunset. The Pāʻina Waikīkī Luau was another highlight of our trip and such a special experience. I would highly recommend it. The food and drinks were traditional, fresh, and festive, and Dean, our server, was so kind, attentive and had the best energy! The performances were gorgeous, and the narrator and band truly captured the story and spirit of Hawaiʻi. Please go! Despite some construction mentioned in other reviews, it did not impact our trip at all. In my opinion, this is one of the best locations to stay in Waikiki, with beaches, shopping, restaurants, and cultural experiences all right at your doorstep. Thank you to everyone at the Waikiki Beach Marriot Resort and Spa who made our family vacation beyond special. We will never forget our time here or you!

Location was just perfect, especially if having kids as it’s close to the protected bay in Waikiki.

The two double beds in the room were very small. Breakfast can be significantly improved.

Check-in was fast and straightforward. The hotel has two towers; the one closer to the water is going through some construction each day and by staying in that tower, you can have the resort fee waived. I chose to have things be a little quieter and stayed in the other tower. My room had a nice balcony with two chairs, a table, and a view of the ocean and sunset. The room was comfortably appointed and included a refrigerator. Local groceries are available nearby so you can bypass all the local high priced establishments if you wish. Waikiki is noisier than most cities and the balcony door blocked out some of the noise. There is a constant whine from the generator (or whatever) on the pool deck, and neighboring hotels have live music until 9pm local, so if you choose the water view, you'll want as high a floor as possible, particularly if you're from the east coast of the US and are six hours off kilter. Five elevators serve the tower, and wait time was reasonable. The overall feel of the facility was consistent with other Marriott hotels...nothing particularly special, but perfectly comfortable and clean.
