"Great hotel, but beach area too crowded"

8.0

Hyatt has an extremely crowed pool and beach. No shot getting beach umbrella if not reserved in advance. You are better off renting umbrellas from red sail and using Hyatt chairs. Same cost but front row.

"The Resort has gone down hill"

2.0

The resort used to be amazing. With new ownership comes new arrogant attitudes. After 20 years of going I wont go back now. I would recommend other resorts on the island...many to choose from.

"I'd save your money and go elsewhere"

4.0

There is nothing wrong with the location or cleanliness to the hotel. But that is about where I can stop with the positive comments about this place. We are two adult travelers and are very loyal to Hyatt and were excited to stay at this property, hoping for a serene and luxurious start to our trip to Aruba. The hotel was jam packed with kids and families. We admit we were traveling during spring break, but no place at the hotel offered a place to be away from kids and families which you'd expect if you are playing $1K or more for a night. The kids are running around, throwing balls, and feel a little unsupervised. The customer service at check in and throughout our experience did not match the warmth and helpfulness we experienced during the rest of our time in Aruba. The craziest thing about this hotel is that you must reserve chairs at the pool or beach in advance of your arrival and NO ONE communicated that prior to our arrival or when we checked in. We only learned about it when we were kicked out of our pool chairs and then told we could have reserved chairs 4 months in advance! We are typically very flexible and understanding of hotel staff but this is truly insane. I would not spend the money at this resort, personally!

"Wonderful vacation!"

10.0

We had a wonderful family vacation here. We used a GOH award and were welcomed early (arrived around 2:30PM). While checking in, our two kids were greeted with sand buckets/shovels, a juice box, and chocolate and the two adults given prosecco. I asked if a room with an ocean view was available and we were grateful to have been given one. 95% of the staff were exceptionally friendly (the other 5% were not rude or anything). We dined every morning at the palms and I loved that they had so many options - egg stations, crepe station, waffle station, tons of cut fresh fruit and whole fruit every day, several options that rotated for hot bar items like potatoes, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, etc., salad type bar, savory items, etc.. My one child is gluten and dairy free and every day we asked to speak with the chef when we arrived and they made her either pancakes or waffles. They also have a designed gluten free section that had rolls, bread, donuts, and a few types of muffins. My only wish is that they had real maple syrup (I know, picky, but we don't like the fake stuff!). The gluten free chicken tenders and fries were really good that we ordered for lunch a couple of times at the pool. For $18 there were 6 large tenders and a ton of fries, which I thought was a great deal. We also enjoyed smoothies at the juice bar. We went on the wildlife tour one day with Mr. Gio who was so nice and wonderful with kids. We were given the chance to feed the birds and fish, which was fun for all of us. My oldest (5 year old) was obsessed with the water slide! Such a fun option and there were many areas in the family pool area to sort of hop around for a difference scene. We decided against keeping our first row palapa reservation at the beach $80/day because they allow what seems like a third party to set up show in front of you with chairs/umbrellas, so you really don't have a front row view of the ocean from most of the spots. Instead, we got the free umbrellas towards the back, and just put towels down by the water to sit on when we wanted to. Overall, highly recommend this location. It is so close to many many restaurants - we walked to everything our entire stay except for one restaurant that was about 20 minute cab ride away. Cant wait to go back someday!

"Great in every aspect but one"

6.0

Food and location were awesome. Cleanliness and service were awesome. Our only complaint was whatever is in the water under your feet after you step into about 2' of water. It started with seaweed (no big deal) but in about 3' of water and deeper, you sink into what I can only describe as feeling as though you're walking through cow manure. You would sink and it felt as though your feet are being sunk into manure. It didn't smell great either. If not for this, I would give this place 5 stars.

"Great trip again. Aruba always delivers."

9.0

Staff is great. Location and amenities are some of the best on the island.

The cost has gone up astronomically. The rules have changed too, as in the check in for seats is 9am now and we could not use pool floats.

"Good but not great"

8.0

Beautiful location, property and beach. Did not like that the hotel only has French balcony’s as we like to sit on the balcony and enjoy a beverage. As Globalists with Hyatt felt like we were “nickel and dimed” with breakfast. Although normally 100% free this placed charged us extra for lattes and tipping breakfast staff.
