Restaurants and entertainment excellent

This resort is absolutely stunning. The pools and salt water lagoon were awesome and our kids had a blast. There were never a shortage of chairs, and I could always find shade when needed. While we didn't use the service of the servers on the pool deck, we were checked on often and it appeared that service was very attentive. We very much enjoyed the club lounge, and found that the options provided for breakfast and dinner (they call it appetizers, but it is a LOT of food), was very impressive. We didn't eat out the whole time we were there! We also loved how the hotel left us a birthday card and decorations for my daughter's birthday, as well as giant floaties which were well used and enjoyed! As if that wasn't impressive enough, they even left cupcakes on our first night and what a delightful surprise it was to come back from dinner and find that! The gym was very nice and big, and we used it when rain prevented us from hiking at the nearby Shipwreck beach trails. While the beach in front of the hotel is usually not great for swimming due to a big shore break, we loved watching the surfers each afternoon, and going for long walks at the shore. We have been to many resorts in Hawaii, and this was by far, our favorite!

Loved the partial ocean view room. Quiet and scenic. Property is beautifully kept and maintained. Live music nightly at Seaview Terrace which has amazing ocean view. We made use of the pool areas and pool side food service, and got hotel chairs and umbrellas for use on the beach. Hiking trail nearby the beach. But it is a quieter island but food options may be a little better and more reasonably priced if you leave the resort. Some shopping areas and food options are just a quick 10 minute drive away

Need total refurbishment inside and out…very dated and worn in many areas . Designer wise too, especially for high price. No turnover service and bad toiletries . Staff don’t respond or know answers

A truly amazing experience from check-in to check-out! The Grand Hyatt exceeded every expectation we had! A must visit.

Had a very good experience! Room was very nice and spacious for standard room. Property was beautiful and our kids LOVED the lagoon pool, slides, and recreation area. Pool Manager Sheri was our only disappointment… had a bit of an inconvenience with one of our bookings and she was surprisingly unhelpful and unfriendly. Otherwise staff was great and kids had a ton of fun. We didn’t let negativity of one staff member affect our days! We hope to return in the future.

As expected, our Grand Hyatt Kauai vacation was exceptional. We did get some winter storms that reduced our activities for four days of our 12-day stay, but that's Kauai in Winter. Next time, we'll schedule a stay in slightly drier months. The storms and gales reduced our time snorkeling and ocean kayaking -- something we love to do. We included the breakfast/brunch package with our reservation, and loved the spectacular foods and service. Priced at $54/person, this still is lower than an a la carte breakfast at the Hyatt. Kauai vacationers should rent a car. There's so much to see and do on Kauai, and a car allows you to do it at your leisure.

A++. Everything is stellar especially the immaculate grounds, incredible pools and lagoon, and customer service. Truly an accessible luxury resort. Rooms are a bit tired and outdated but otherwise this place is flawless.
