Inn at the Gorge

We were very disappointed in the value of the inn versus the price we paid. If you are older or have knee issues, this is not the place to stay as you will have to carry your luggage up a steep staircase and the clawtub/shower combo is an accident risk as it is small and nothing to hold on to in case you lose your balance. We stayed in the Cascade Room. It is also a hilly walk to and from downtown. If you want to spend more time in the downtown area, I recommend staying on Oak Street.

Beautifully restored mansion into a multi room B&B. Very nice, quite and an amazing breakfast.

We did not stay for breakfast. Good location.

Facility was not to up to par. Peeling paint on front steps, hardwood floor in room was very worn and bare. We never saw the owner/manager. All communication was via text. No welcome, tips on the area, opportunity to visit with other guests. The living room was set up for breakfast, so no place to sit/relax. No mention of stairs on the website. The shower was a fiberglass insert and very small. Furnishings were not up to the quality one would expect for this level of accommodation. Overall, greatly over priced for the value provided.

I liked the location, that would be about it. The Manager and some of the staff were helpful and courteous.

The pictures online are deceiving, as the rooms are much smaller and beds are very uncomfortable, not at all suitable for a family 4 and we had to pay extra for our children. The shower/tub was so small that I could see over the top of the shower curtain and I am 5'4", the bathroom is very outdated. The kitchen service was the slowest and worst I have ever seen, the owner was high as a kite almost every time I saw him and he was the chef for 2 out of the 3 mornings we were there.

The hotel was quite nice, but although it was explained to me that my bathroom would be a short walk down the hall, it wasn't explained that the "hall" included the front entrance and the dining room and front lounge or that the room was surrounded by the main outdoor porch on 2 sides. Or the the bathroom would be open to all guests. A little awkward and lacked any privacy, plus it was noisy at night when other guests hung out on the porches.

Uncomfortable and small Murphy Bed. No bathroom in our room. Expensive considering our accommodations.
