This was our second time at Amara Cay. The hotel and grounds are exceptional, staff is very helpful. Food and drinks at the bar were great. Hope to be back next year

We had a magical family vacation at Amara Cay. The location, staff and amenities all get 5 stars! Nosi at the front desk was so kind and attentive. She was so sweet with my little one and we waited so we could say goodbye, my child was sad to say goodbye to his new friend! The boat ride, captain and first mate was one of the best amenities to take over to Three Waters. It’s great that you can resort hop with the other two hotels. The pool and all of the activities at the beach- paint and juice, foam party were some of the highlights from our trip. Walkability from Amara Cay is a great perk. There are so many restaurants within walking distance. We were able to walk to the marina to see tarpon and sharks swimming around. The hotel rooms themselves could use a little refresh but they were clean and comfortable. Also, the staff are amazing but could use a little more help at the tiki bar and pool.

I'm extremely disappointed with my experience regarding a recent booking at Amara Cay in Islamorada, Florida. Unfortunately, I had to cancel my trip due to a serious family emergency- my mother. Despite explaining the situation, I was met with a complete lack of understanding and compassion. I also offered to pay more money if needed. What's most frustrating is that neither a refund nor a rescheduling option was offered. In a situation like this, you would expect a hospitality business to show at least some flexibility, but that was not my experience at all. To make matters worse, I booked through Expedia, which added another layer of difficulty. The back and forth between the two, with each side deflecting. Based on this experience, I strongly recommend avoiding third party booking sites like Expedia when planning your stay, especially if there's any chance your plans could change. More importantly, I would think twice before booking with Amara Cay if customer care and understanding during emergencies matter to you. This experience left a very negative impression, and I hope the resort reconsiders how they handle situations involving genuine emergencies in the future.

I've been to the Keys at least 50 times in the last 30 years, but this was the best place I've ever stayed. They have a GORGEOUS beach area, a great bar, friendly front desk staff, and comfortable beds. I also appreciated that unlike other hotels, the gift shop prices aren't outrageous. I want to send a special shout out for a maintenance worker named Michael who was friendly, helpful and professional when he saved me from a minor toilet clogging emergency! Whatever he makes, it's not enough, lol.

The property is clean, is not big and it’s not small. Lot of things to do around with kids and it’s possible to get the rum runner to other properties, it was a plus. And the crew is amazing! The food was really good.

The only thing that they can work better is in the time service, take too long to be seen by staff/server.

Outdated rooms especially for the price.

Rooms ok but air conditioning unit funky and terribly loud ! And the toilet is kiddy size
