Amara Cay Resort

I have never felt the need to leave a review online for both the positive or negative but the unprofessionalism from a few of the staff at this resort has forced me to do so. The front desk managers were completely rude and disrespectful when dealing with them while trying to get my room changed so my kids didn’t have to listen to the people in the next room having sex all night. Two managers (am and pm shift) were not only incompetent but disrespectful. In trying to move our room so my kids didn’t have to listen to this. They made us leave our room all day and then later finally gave us a different room right next-door to the problem room. Complete utter incompetence, rude staff and paper thin walls make this place know where you want to bring children

Location was within walking distance to restaurants, pool and tiki bar were great! Property also had bikes to use, which was a wonderful perk. Beds were very comfortable!

Unfortunately, due to flight cancellations, we were not able to arrive until the day after our reservation stated. Even though I called (actually twice) to leave a message that we were still coming, we were marked as a no show and our room was given away. Property either needs to answer phone calls from guests after hours, or figure out a different process for guests to report travel delays. The property was able to find us a room, however it was one bed short of what we needed for our family.

The location of this hotel is nice, the pool area is great and the views so beautiful. The part I didn’t love were the rooms. We had an ocean view room and yes the view was nice but the inside of the room is not luxury As advertised .The bathrooms need a little re do and the rooms were not amazing, kind of plain and no decor that is for what we are paying. I understand it’s high season so you have to charge more but the premium amount that we pay for the room is not worth it! Basically you are paying for the view. The employees were very nice and service great!

The Amara Cay resort is fine but not great. We stayed in room 403 and had a view of the AC units on the neighboring roof. The rooms were seemingly clean but our head board had a large wet stain on it, the shower tiles had a bit of mold and the bed side lights didn't work. When we touched the towel rod it flew off and looked like someone had broken it and just placed it back delicately. Other than the front desk staff, all of the staff seemed like they were annoyed to be there or to assist you...with the exception of Marcus at the bar, he was awesome! The food is decent and drinks were fine. Nothing great but not bad either. The maid left our door propped open all day after they cleaned our room while we were down at the pool, so we were lucky that no one came in our room. The pool is nice and the pictures are accurate. It's a totally decent hotel but not for the $500 per night that we paid. The sister resort at Three Waters had better beach access. The ferry running between the hotels was not in service throughout our entire 4 night stay due to wind. I would suggest booking this hotel only if you get a great deal. Enjoy Islamorada!

This resort needs a lot of help. Literally needs more staff and room repairs. The bathroom shower water plumbing was reversed and had to put towels down at the edge of the shower to prevent a flood in the bathroom, hence a drain in the middle of the bathroom floor. Bathroom sink drain was rusted out. Even the strongest person could barely move the closet doors. No one to help with your luggage , coming or going. No luggage cart available on our arrival so had to make 2 trips to the car and on departure, had to go to every floor to find a rolling luggage cart. And one of the front desk staff was so rude and insisted the lack of hot shower water wasn't her problem so I had to ask that engineering be called. Took 2 calls before someone showed up. Housekeeping is supposed to be every day but more often than not they did not show. We had to take out our own garbage and ask housekeeping for more towels and coffee 3 of the 4 days. This hotel should not be charging a RESORT FEE.

I recently celebrated my 60th birthday and a month later my father passed away. Amara Cay was the perfect place for me to escape reality for a little while. The view is beautiful! White sand and blue water! The food is delicious! The staff is very friendly and accommodating! The smell inside the resort is intoxicating! I have no complaints at all. I hope to visit again in the near future!

Localização ótima, excelente benefício de poder utilizar dos amenities dos outros resorts do grupo e com transfer gratuito e de muito fácil acesso e agendamento! Ótimo benefício da bike disponível no hotel também é água para refil.

Fotos enganam bastante - resort antigo e área de lazer limitada, tínhamos outra expectativa. Ficamos num quarto térreo lanai (apt 121) que, por azar, era na frente da porta de acesso à área de limpeza - funcionários batiam a porta DIVERSAS vezes, sem cuidado algum e fazendo muito barulho. Nos acordaram os 2 dias que nos hospedamos... Check in pessoa bastante unfriendly.
