My expectations of the Doubletree were a bit more on the luxury end from past experience/reputation. The accommodations were very clean and comfortable, but I has hoping for more of a higher-end experience.

This hotel could do better for the price. 1. Lack of parking, they charged for parking & when when there wasn’t any spots open, had to park in secured Lot across the busy street during the day/evening. Which is ok…But come on 2. Ice Machine very dirty, slimy on the grate to hold the small bucket. 3. No towel rack to hang up your wet towels to use again, at least for a day. We stayed 2 nights.

What a terrible experience! I really wanted to like this hotel based in the location but honestly it’s a two star hotel at best. It starts at the front counter. Marcia had the biggest scowl on her face when we came up to ask for her assistance and she was beyond rude. I feel it is because we were traveling with my husbands service dog , he suffers from epilepsy and goes everywhere with her. Due to our dog being part Pitbull Marcia stereotyped her and looked down upon us and her. How uncomfortable can that be ?? Additionally the hotel is not kept up to the usual Doubletree standards. The rooms were old and worn, the lobby floors are perpetually wet as when housekeeping cleans the product leaves it wet and slippy, it’s a huge OSHA problem. The staff stands out back of the building and smokes cigarettes. It’s plain nasty

There are a lot of things to like about this hotel. It very clean and welcoming. The morning staff at front desk is extremely nice and always greets guests with a warm "hello". It's close to "everything" that is St. Augustine as I was able to walk south to the main part of town, or north to Stop #1 on the trolley station. I also found a nice place for breakfast up the street on Old Mission at Farmhand KCHN where I was able to have a nice breakfast for less money than the buffet at Doubletree. The only issue I had was the bed. It was way to soft and left me with a backache after my tree day stay. Otherwise I would have rated the hotel a 5.

It was located right downtown close to everything. It was easy to find and staff were very nice.

Only downside is the parking lot had small parking spots. Definitely need to bring a smaller car.

Convenient location, very clean, well appointed room.
