Faraway Nantucket

Faraway Nantucket was a nice place to stay. Room was very small but clean. The outdoor restaurant/lounge was a nice place to relax, and the indoor bar was happening in the evening. The location is perfect. All shops and restaurants are walkable from the hotel. Great place to stay!

The staff was very helpful the only issue I had was when I booked I didn’t expect to share a bathroom. A little awkward at first but got over it as the stay went on.

Overall, the stay was very disappointing. The facilities are clean and aesthetically appealing, but the service and hospitality were not to expectation. Our first night was restless due to noise coming from a restaurant next door. The staff wasn’t able to remedy the situation so we listened to the banging from next door’s ventilation system all night. At the time, WiFi and the AC weren’t working well either. The problems were fixed by the next night. Additionally, the pictures online are not representative of the rooms. We got a room with minimal natural light and the windows were looking onto the street which meant we didn’t have any privacy. Re the hospitality, every time we asked for something, we were met with an attitude or unhelpful answers. The location is great and convenient, but we won’t be staying here again.

Place looked nice, but staying there was AWFUL. The mattress was outdated and extremely uncomfortable/hard. Every pillow in our room looks nice, but went flat instantly. The hallway was extremely loud with slamming doors all night. The floor above us stomped all night and the walls are paper thing, so we heard every nuance of the neighbors… love making. Needless to say we got zero sleep and got to pay $900 for that. The one positive is the bar area is cool and has extremely friendly bartenders

I feel like the people leaving negative reviews haven’t spent much time at hotels directly downtown on Nantucket. Are the rooms small? Yes. Is it loud? Yes (just bring a sound machine and you’ll be fine). Is it over priced? Maybe, but Nantucket is expensive. It’s clean, it’s nice and it’s convenient. The AC gets super cold, the bed is comfy and it has bathrobes. The personal care products are outstanding. You are right in the heart and center of downtown Nantucket. Less than a 5 minute walk to all of the best spots. Even though the rooms are small, they are well organized. The bathroom had a ton of storage space. Could you spend $1000 a night for a larger room somewhere else? Yes, but you aren’t on Nantucket. I almost canceled my reservation after reading the reviews on this app. If you come into it with low expectations, they will be wildly exceeded.

Love this spot for the location, adorable courtyard where you can sit and enjoy your coffee in the morning or book a reservation for dinner in the evening. Have stayed here a number of times and despite high price and small rooms there’s special about it that something keeps me coming back!
