Faraway Nantucket

Our stay at Faraway in Nantucket was unacceptable. I informed the property that my 78-year-old mother has COPD and cannot climb stairs. Despite this, we were placed on the 4th floor with no elevator. When we requested a room change—offering to take any downgrade—they refused and dismissed our concerns completely. This is not only a failure in hospitality, but also a disregard for basic accessibility standards and ADA compliance. Guests with health conditions deserve safe accommodations. This experience was stressful, dangerous, and deeply disappointing. I will never return and strongly caution others, especially anyone with mobility or health concerns, to avoid this property.

I wish the bathrooms were bigger and had a counter shower and bathroom area is in need of updating.

The hotel does not make it clear that some of the guest room do NOT have their own bathroom on their website and with room descriptions on third party sites. Simply stating, “shared bathroom” with no specific details or images is unclear and in my opinion, incredibly deceiving. The shared bathroom experience unfortunately made our stay at the hotel unenjoyable. From the moment we arrived, the bathroom was not cleaned, I got locked in the bathroom and it took over 20 minutes for the maintenance staff to come and unlock the door, and when we did use the shower, there was no soap in the shower stall so we had to use shampoo. To pay that type of price point for a hotel room, I would expect that it would have its own bathroom. On top of that, the amount of narrow stairs that we had to get to our room was also a unexpected, and disappointing surprise. I will not be recommending this hotel to any of my family or friends who will be travelling to the island in the future. In all due respect, I think I should be partially compensated for my stay.

They charged an absurd amount of money and didn’t disclose I could have a shared bathroom which is outrageous

This hotel is stunning! The courtyard when you first walk in is surrounded by hydrangea’s in every color and the grounds are impeccable!! We stayed in the garden king room which was pie big for my husband and our 15 year old daughter. It’s also located right in the Herat of the island steps from all the shopping and restaurants! I cannot say more positive things about this beautiful hotel!

There is NOTHING luxurious about this hotel. It is very overrated. The rooms are small There are no nice amenities I the room. Also be aware that there is no hotel lobby and the staff is very small. This place is very overpriced for what you get which is basically nothing. It is more sparse than a cheap hotel. All communications via text. We can't even figure out who is managing this place. Poor very very poor. You are on your own. Might as well stay at VRBO. THE ROOMS ARE SO SMALL YOU CANT EVEN UNPACK A SUITCASE AND OUR ROOM IS OVER $700 a night. Don't waste your money.

This is a great location but it is very loud at night.
