Banyan Harbor

Excellent location accommodations and reservation team! The Banyan Harbor Resort is centrally located on the beautiful garden island. Making everything easily accessible and convenient. Mahalo!

We enjoyed our stay at Banyon Harbor resort. It was centrally located on Kauai, and having a 2-bedroom condo was perfect for our family of 4. It was a bit noisy, as it is in a port harbor. However, we were not too bothered by the noise & enjoyed watching the cruise ships dock nearby.

We were welcomed graciously by cockroaches !! The pictures on their site are so so mis leading!! Run!!

Excellent stay! Clean, comfortable and quiet. The amenities were great, centrally located in Lihue so we could go south if the weather was poor or we could go north to enjoy the North Shore. Really enjoyed the pool and BBQ area! Great place to gather and prepare dinner while kids swim!

While the location of this place is convenient (close to Costco, Walmart, Target, Safeway), I’m giving a low score due to the noise we were disrupted with during the mornings 4am-7am, and 7-9pm by kids stomping above (felt like nonstop), and parents opening the patio doors 4am in the morning and stomping around as well. Sleep was disrupted and I felt tired throughout the day. When we called the front desk, they said thanks for the report, but nothing changed. Quiet time is 8pm, but visitors didn’t seem to care one bit. Horrible etiquette and lack of consideration of others. Wish the front desk staff moved us to a different room. In the future, I’d recommend the staff placing family with kids on a lower level to be courteous of other families (adults only). Staying on a lower floor is not recommended!!! Floors are thin so you hear every crack and footstep. Other than the noise complaints, we had issues with flies 10+ entering the rooms as well. We closed all windows and doors, tried to kill them with hand towels, but they kept coming. There are void spaces between vents that may have caused this. Recommend staff caulking or sealing areas throughout. The place is decent (not modernized but workable). Having two restrooms was a plus and a full kitchen with supplies. Having an AC was a plus too. Don’t recommend staying at a location without AC. If we had better folks staying above or had our rooms changed, that would have made the trip much better. Disturbed sleep is not good especially when you’re on vacation!

Staff was great, really friendly, and communicated well. Condo was very clean and comfortable. Towels (bath and beach), toiletries, kitchen utensils included. Air conditioning and fans in living room and each bedroom was amazing. Balcony next to living room and master bedroom. Washer/dryer in unit was great. Parking is free. Pool is excellent with a gorgeous view of the harbor. Grilling areas, basketball/other outdoor games on the property with equipment available to borrow from reception. Location is really great: walking distance to Kalapaki Beach, two coffee shops, many restaurants/ice cream/some shopping. The Royal Sonesta resort is next door if you want to browse their gardens or lounge around. Costco, grocery store, Lihue downtown, and Lihue airport are all <10 min drive away.

Coming to Kauai you must understand that everything is expensive, especially lodging, so accept that you are paying higher prices than what you may be used to for a non-luxury experience. The condo is an older vacation rental with comfortable, but dated design (though appliances all seemed newer). There can be some noise from traffic from Nawiliwili Road. The area is right next to the Lihue's cruise ship dock, which makes the area a little more busy with cruise tourists a few days a week. The nearby Kalapaki Beach isn’t the best for swimming compared to others on Kauai.

Overall, this was a very pleasant stay. Our condo was relatively small but laid out nicely for it's size. Although the development is getting up there in age, it is maintained well. It's located only 2 miles from the airport, making it very convenient with no airplane noise at all. Also, there a several restaurants within walking distance and a grocery store just a few miles away. Since Kuia'i is such a small island, this is a great location to drive around almost all of the island.

Die stark befahrene Hauptstrasse geht direkt am Ressort vorbei. Daher tagsüber sehr laut, es war aber auch so beschrieben.
