Location was the best

The air conditioner didn’t work very well

The room we got was right besides the major road. Could not sleep because of the noise.

Needs better service from staff . The unit might have maintained much better. The unit assigned to me was noisy. The facility has very old infrastructure.

Overall it was a good experience. Needed a some minor maintenance in the bathroom but was functional . Close to a nice beach, shoppng and restaurants.

Nice looking place and centrally located in Lihue if taking a day trip North, West, or to the South. Just two miles from airport and close to the grocery store and beach. Very nice pool location with no trees blocking the sun and beautiful view. The rooms are well laid out and had plenty of space.

I wish that someone would have warned us that the RCI exchange would back onto a noisy roadway and that the lanai is very small with no views at all. Road noise woke us up several times during the night. I have never experienced anything like that in any other resort exchange on Kauai so was totally not prepared for it. The units themselves are well maintained and reasonably equipped although the lack of a corkscrew is puzzling. When we called to ask for one the front desks response was that she didn’t have one. There is no fitness facility onsite and when we asked front desks response was that there was one across the street. The maintenance guy was very pleasant and responsive when we called to have him reset our room safe The pool is bare bones, no shade umbrellas and no hot tub. Every other resort on the island that we have stayed at had both. The resort charges a $50 daily resort fee which is a bit much given how few amenities they have. After staying here I realize why it was the only resort on Kauai when we tried to book 10 months out.

Banyan Harbor was in a great location for walking or using as home base for exploring the island. The suite was clean, but smelled old and stuffy. We were on the bottom level, so one bedroom was lovely with a view and viranda overlooking the ocean, but the other room had a window with little to no natural light, as it looked into a stairwell. Beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms were lovely and felt newly renovated. The suite had very little attention to detail however; the fridge door opened the wrong way, the kitchen was designed poorly where the dishwasher had to be opened to be able to open the utensil drawer (not a big deal until the dishwasher is on), and the knives were as dull as a butter knife. Overall, the suite was on the more affordable side but I probably would try another accommodation if we were to stay in Lihue again.

The complex is very much showing it's age. Paint, bathrooms are dated, noisy window mounted air conditioners and noisy neighbors all contributed to a less than satisfactory stay. But as a timeshare owner there is only so much one can do.
