Quality Inn Peru near Starved Rock State Park

It was close to the event we attended.

Unfortunately, our stay at the Quality Inn in Peru, Illinois near Starved Rock was disappointing. Upon entering the room, we immediately noticed a strong marijuana odor that made the room feel unclean and unpleasant. The bathroom was not properly cleaned, and there was hair on the floor behind the bathroom door. We also found a significant amount of dirt and black debris in several areas of the room, which raised concerns about the overall cleanliness standards. The bathtub faucet leaked continuously, with the spout dripping throughout our stay. In addition, we found two spiders in the room—one on a cup near the sink and another near the air conditioning unit. What made the experience even more frustrating was the lack of staff availability. We went to the front desk to report the issues and waited more than 10 minutes, but no one ever showed up. When we checked out early and left around 5:00 AM the next morning, the front desk was again unattended, leaving us with no opportunity to discuss our concerns with hotel staff. Between the marijuana smell, poor cleanliness, maintenance issues, spiders in the room, and the complete lack of staff availability when assistance was needed, this was one of the most disappointing hotel stays we’ve experienced. We hope management addresses these issues so future guests have a better experience.

We were told a different price than the 25 dollar pet fee. We were charged an additional 50 dollar cash fee for pets. We also were told there was no incidental fee after calling corporate and spoke to Joe, and were told once we arrived there was an additional incidental fee as well that was not expected of another 50 dollars per night. Aside from the surprise additional fees, we had a good stay. However 2 hours after we checked out for a hike noticed my daughters both left their swimsuits. We call at 1pm to be told they threw them out and they do not keep your things left behind. I would not stay there again. I think there are better choices that have better policies and more consistent with charges. We were disappointed to be told one thing through booking only to be charged more once we arrived. We were also shocked at how quickly they disposed of our personal items

Near I-80, comfortable beds, reasonable price, breakfast Included. Had a pool, but we didn't use it.

I made my reservations thru third party site for payment at hotel. Staff pulled me up thru Choice system instead, and charged by that rate. Luckily it was a few dollars less, but didn't feel right.

The bed sheet was pretty wrinkled, I did wonder if it sat too long in the dryer, and I did worry, it was never changed. I cannot say either way, and that makes it uneasy to think about.
