The Bell at Stow

On-site parking in front of The Bell, easy walk into town for additional pubs & restaurants, as well a boutique shops. Large public car oark (pay-and-display) directly across the road. Five comfortable boutiqe rooms with great ensuite bathrooms, large-screen TVs, great views. Great beers and food options, terrific breakfast! Warm and welcoming staff and management. Very romantic and also close to a plethora of historic homes and must-see sights. Loved it!

Great service but not a comfortable room. There was no chair to sit on, just a tiny, wobbly stool. The mattress was not comfortable for me or for my wife. This room is just too small for two people, and it was not the smallest room in the inn.

Really nice reasonably priced room, compact but everything we needed. Only issue we had was very limited taxi services in the area, so had to drive to the venue, leave the car and walk to collect the next day.

Staff could not have been friendlier.food excellent although did not realise breakfast was not included however it was well worth the additional cost.Didnt understand additional charge for a cup of tea with breakfast!!! A little noisy as room above bar but otherwise excellent place to stay - would recommend.

Staff (not owner) were excellent and food / evening service was good, however the rest of the experience (starting with awful reception from the owner that made us feel completely unwelcome) was a nightmare. The Dormouse Room (that we had no choice but to stay in) was sold as a ‘small double boutique room’ but was common knowledge to be too small for two people. The room footprint (at 2.5m by 2.5m) was taken up almost entirely by the bed. I have never stayed in such a small room (and I believe below area required by regulation. To enter and leave the room requires one person to climb completely on the bed or stand in the shower room to use the room door. We found our two trolley bags took up all the floor space so the staff had to remove bed covering / cushions etc and put them in the other broom cupboard next door.

Great little find in a lovely small town

We loved the Bell at Stow. The room felt comfy and cozy, but was actually quite big. It was the largest hotel room we had while in England (we stayed in the stag). The bed was comfortable, the decor was perfect, and they had a lot of nice touches like free shortbread cookies in the rooms. The food was also great. We really enjoyed the free breakfast and we had dinner here a few times and it was very tasty. Overall we loved it and would definitely stay here again.

2 separate properties. Lots of character. Updated. Room was lottery on the street. Noisy.

Great place, excellent staff and food. Please note that the dormouse room is TINY! One must climb over the bed to access the pocket en-suite bathroom. No place for one’s suite cases( carry on size). We enjoyed our stay anyway.

Room was small and heat was on overnight in an already very warm room. It was a nice Inn, however, with a good hot breakfast, and staff said they would turn the heat off.
