The Bell at Stow

The design of the room was lovely. Size was great. Everything was in good condition. Tiny note, shower could have been a bit bigger, but overall we loved everything.

Overall our trip to the Cotswolds was great, Stow On The Wold is a great place to base yourself. Booking through Hotels.com, it wasn't obvious that our specific room was actually based down the road at The Stuart House. That wasn't really a problem but we weren't given a point of contact at Stuart house, the welcome brochure informed us to dial 0 to speak to reception if we had any issues, but there wasn't a phone in the room. Not helpful when the heating didn't come on in the morning on our last day. Reviews spoke of "immaculate" rooms but this was not the case in our room 'Horse', you could barely see out the windows for algae on the outside of them. The blinds where covered in grime, dust and where mostly broken. Considering there are "no pets allowed" the carpet, rug and throw on the bed had a worrying amount of short white hair that definitely didn't come from a human... The decor of the room was lovely and the bathroom was great, I felt it could have done with another surface since you had to move the kettle and coffee machine to the dresser to plug them in. The bluetooth speaker, TV, hair dryer and iron were all modern and worked well. I'm not normally so critical of a room but considering the glowing reviews that led to our decision to stay here I felt they did not represent our experience.

Really lovely. Able to park outside. Able to go downstairs for breakfast. Room was warm and safe. Hotel has a great atmosphere. Staff friendly and knowledgeable. Wonderful touches- sloe gin and shortbread. Comfortable bed and fluffy towels.

The hotel was nicely decorated and the food was delicious. It included any hot food for breakfast from the pub kitchen which was very good. Friendly and helpful staff. It's not the easiest place to find with the navigation. The water bottle in the room was not clean.

Great hotel, very central and very clean. Would highly recommend.
