Santo Mauro, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Madrid

First time to stay at Santo Mauro. I’m a very particular person and this place exceeded all my expectations. The moment you arrive at the door you are greeted with the most wonderful people from the valet/doorman Richard, Carmelo, Elena at the front desk, Sylvia and Javier at the restaurant. The restaurant uses Christofle silverware. The bathrooms have Byredo products, the bed linens are the most comfortable sheets. I can’t say enough good things about this particular hotel. You just have to experience it your own. We stayed at room 201. It’s their suite with marble dining table for 6 people and a living room enough to entertain a small group. The property is located in the Chamberi area which is considered as one of the safest and high end neighborhoods in the city. This hotel used to be the private residence of the Duke of Santo Mauro.

Beautiful hotel, property and excellent staff. We loved the decor, the focus on details and the outside grounds (despite the cool weather during our visit). The bar (with local cocktail) was a highlight. We had a nightcap each night of our stay. The breakfast room (library) was amazing too.

Our room was excellent, but not enough outlets to plug in our devices. Also, a bit dark (especially with the shades drawn)

What a true luxury hotel should be; a well-orchestrated professional team working together. Even before arrival the proactive service of Concierge Diego. Then a friendly welcome by the Doorman, the Reception ladies upgrading a Marriott Lifetime Platinum. At the bar (Alexander and Richard), dinner arrangements with Brenda and a fabulous culinary experience at their restaurant with Mohammed, Maxim and Charlie. This hotel has it all. Great location in front of the Sweden Embassy, magnificent peaceful gardens in the middle of everything. The junior suite had a great layout very functional, extra comfortable luxury. We will be back with whole family. Do not miss their Casilda Welcome Drink!

I loved the hotel’s luxurious design inside- out, and the staff’s support & kindness. The paper roll in the bathroom was of excellent quality with beautiful stitching! They accommodated us for an upgrade as the rooms were smaller than expected, which was very much welcoming! The room service people were truly kind & helpful in anyway they could, which said a lot about their hospitality🍓 The food was good but a bit salty and if you enjoy your meats well done, you’ll need to reinforce such as in Europe that it’s still medium rare from the inside. Otherwise, we loved our stay!

Salty food (e.g. seafoods as fish) and not fully cooked. meats still medium rare vs well done when asked for such.

If I could give this property 10 stars I would. Every aspect of this boutique hotel is first class. The property is exquisite. Every room is unique - beautifully appointed and thoughtfully equipped to cater to a guest’s every need when far from home. Guests are pampered in every way. Also, the location is spectacular- this cozy little gem is nestled in a quiet neighborhood far from the noise of the tourist areas, yet close to shopping, restaurants, the metro, etc. Uber and cabs are easily accessed as well. A bellman is always quick to assist. By far for us the most wonderful aspect of the Santo Mauro is the staff. Hands down one of the pleasant, attentive, and hospitable group of professionals I’ve ever encountered. Every person is treated as if a guest in their home. Their only mission is to ensure you have the most comfortable and enjoyable stay. While every person we encountered displayed the highest level of professionalism, we would like to recognize Carmello and Palermo for going above and beyond for our family. The Santo Mauro’s hospitality is second to none, and I cannot recommend this property highly enough. We will definitely be back.

The staff at the front desk were all female and the atmosphere was relaxed and very friendly.
