Rydges Lakeland Resort Queenstown

Beautiful location, very nice hotel, bar and restaurant. Room was a bit small.

The hotel has a nice view, and the restaurant was okay, but their rooms were just a smidge above Motel 6 level. The hotel was not very well staffed and we couldn't get help with our luggage. The bed was not comfortable, and the place just looked tired. They are remodeling, but I suspect that it won't make much difference, as they seem to gravitate toward the cheapest elements possible.

The property is undergoing renovations, so will only get better. What I liked: - Bus stops right out front, so easy and inexpensive transfer from the airport. - Walkable to town, but far enough away to be quiet. - Decent buffet breakfast options - Nice view of the lake - Front desk staff were extremely helpful in reconfirming any tours we had booked. - Nice little beach\park area across the street to enjoy. We had the one bedroom suite - definitely tired and dated, but was still comfortable. No AC, so opened the windows at night which was fine.

Generally good, very walkable to the restaurants, bars and shops. Spectacular views from the restaurant and Bar. Drawbacks, no AC and if you leave the windows open, the road is very noisy in the morning and the trees parcially block the lake. All that said, i would stay there again.

The hotel was sub par in every way. Rude and combative front desk manager when I told him we had no water at pressure at all in our shower. Room was dirty when we checked in. Clearly regional managers are unaware how tattered and underwhelming this property has become. Very disappointing on so many levels. Too bad. We expected to like it

Staff are very good but building is in need of TLC

Great location but facility is very old and it was disappointing . I hope their renovation improves the facility.
