Isla Bank House

You can't help but have a "Wow!" moment when you drive up to Isla Bank House. It is a beautiful old mansion, being lovingly restored to its original splendour by Nick and Vena, our hosts. And I can't say enough wonderful things about them! Vena and NIck are welcoming, professional, and just lovely people. They strike the perfect balance of hospitality and privacy. My husband and I felt both very looked-after and also privacy-respected. We decided to dine both nights at the House, and our meals were homemade, of very high quality and delicious. Our breakfasts (included) were equally as good. Our room was spacious and elegant, with plenty of room to keep our things. The bed was very comfortable, and our ensuite bath spacious and luxurious. Keith is lovely and we spent a lot of time walking around. It is helpful to remember that this is a guest house in a village, not a city hotel, just to set expectations.

I can't think of anything we didn't like.

This was one of the best places that I've ever stayed at. Vena and Nick really made sure that your stay was comfortable. Breakfast and Dinner is made to order and is incredible. Hopefully if they visit us in Los Angeles, we would love to pass on the same experience

ABSOLUTLY NOTHING. Everything was just perfect. Just wished that we had more time.

Breakfast was nice but minimal. Location was perfect for my party to meet with other members of my family at a family celebration in Keith.

I expected a TV in the room and a more substantial breakfast. Some of my party found their rooms to be cold.

Hosts, Vena and Nick are the best.

Easy to find per the directions. Their outdoor area are nicely done. But that's about it.

Rooms were fine, but nothing great. There were so many restrictions, no heater to be used, clean makeup with darker towels, this and that. Bed was not very comfortable either. WORST of all was their super expensive and such a disappointing dinner. The person even charged us one pound each for a spoon of mango-chutney without disclosing that he will charge as he casually asked "would you like some mango-chutney?". We wouldn't have guessed that he would charge for chutney with more than 100 pounds of so called dinner. We were a family of 4 and all of us were really disappointed with dinner. The host was also confused about getting some fruits for the breakfast as my wife needed fruit breakfast. Ultimately he managed some fruits in the morning - not sure how but we were planning to go to local store to get fruits if he didn't bring them. Overall, it is expensive, not worth it for the price, did not meet our expectations, particularly disappointing dinner etc. Him charging for mango-chutney was the straw that broke the proverbial camel's back for us. It is a rip-off without setting proper expectations upfront.

Quality breakfast, What a brilliant stay!

Vena & Nick are super friendly hosts with a very well kept B&B. The food was always cooked to a high standard with fresh ingredients. They run their B&B with a lot of heart and soul. Thank you so much for your hospitality!
