The property is beautiful and has been lovingly preserved in its original state. And the staff are old school and treat their guests like royalty.

Excellent standard of service and cleanliness, located in the center of the city, very close to touristic attractions.

Great hotel, great hospitality and great food

Lovely property, but I struggled to eat the food and the bath was pretty dirty for a 5 star. I also felt the staff were TOO on top of it - I wanted some time with my thoughts and kept getting interrupted by staff when I wanted to just be left alone. So I was secretly irritated.

Property is conveniently located in the heart of the city in the new market area. We liked the surrounding area sinxd it offers a lot of lowcost shopping experience. But at the same time, the area is not clean and hygienic. Also, the property is old. Lot of people may not like it. Also, there is no indoor pool. We liked the service though.

The historic Oberoi Grand is an institution, and the staff take care to keep it so. There is nothing quite like it in Kolkata and it is an experience to seek out if one visits the city.
