Hampton Inn Norfolk/Virginia Beach

The 4th floor room i originally had, 405 was SO muggy & humid I couldn't bare it. I tried adjusting the thermostat and even left the room for hours to come back to the same conditions. The front desk staff was gracious and immediately changed my room. The 3rd floor room was better but still so humid that the sheets felt damp. I couldn't get comfortable and needless to say i didn't sleep well. The water pressure in the shower was so weak that a "quick shower" turned into a prolonged shower that had the room extra humid.

I hated that the pool was broken and the bathroom wasn’t cleaned thoroughly. But the staff was great!

The front desk manager was bright, cheery, and social, as well as knowledgeable. My room was cool and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was good and the supply was replenished as needed. I did not appreciate that the front doors were locked in the morning as I went to my car to drop my bags and then came to eat because there were many guests in the dining area and I didn’t want to take up the space. Sadly, the bathroom still had hair in the shower, on the toilet, and the floor from the previous occupant. Norfolk could be a frequent stop for me, but I don’t know about this property.

Thin walls, you can hear neighbors easily.

We stayed in room 224. The check in process was smooth. However, upon entering the room we noticed a smell in the bathroom. The smell was most likely coming from the pasture on the ceiling over the toilet. We asked for another room and was informed that they were completely booked for the night. After showering the tub would not stop leaking, so we went to pull the door up. We found ourselves locked out of the bathroom because it sealed itself from the top but was not fully closed at the bottom. The receptionist had to use her body force to get the door open and again apologized for the inconvenience. We later saw multiple hairs in our sheets as if somewhere had already laid there but at this point it was midnight and we just wanted to sleep. The next morning as we were packing our bags to go, we noticed the ceiling in the bathroom leaking over the floor. We again notified the front desk and nothing was done. The customer service here is nice as everybody was nice, and the breakfast was good. However when it comes to cleanliness and safety hazards I have many concerns.

Paid for a room there through booking.com yet the hotel says they didn't receive anything from booking.com so I was charged twice. Now disputing the charge. Even showed the booking.com receipt. Terrible experience. Was told manager would correct, but never did.
