OYO Hotel Georgia near Fairburn/Atlanta

We were trying to book a different hotel but they were full. Hotels.com recommended this one. I will do all my own research from now on! Will never stay here again. Dirty, smelly, noisy,breakfast was only cereal (which we didn't eat), bed was horrible....

Due to the fact there weren't many complaints about this place I expected it to be alittle better. Problems began at check-in.There was a rude woman. I assume to be the owner there. When I came to check in she asked the young lady behind the desk, which very nice and helpful, were all those people staying here. I did not know at that time she was referring to my 3 teenage sons in my car which she could see through the window. Then she questioned me repeatedly on how many people were on my reservation. I told her 4...1 adult and 3 children. Then she asked for the ages and when I told her my oldest was 17 she told me I was going to have to pay $10 extra for him. When I told her when I made the reservation on Expedia I included his age and they said no such thing. She then proceeded to tell me I needed to pull up my reservation and stomped off into her office. Then the "guest" that were in the room next to us were standing outside when we pulled up. The were literally dressed like prostitutes with bras and tiny shorts on. One was dying the others hair on the steps later that evening. Also on arrival the toliet wouldn't flush. But the maintenance man was nice and came very fast to fix it. I did see 1 roach while we were there and our room smelled.

Our stay at Magnuson Hotel was pleasant.

It was cheap but the hotel itself seemed very old. It smelled weird and the beds were terrible.

This was probably the nicest place we stayed at in the Atlanta area and was fairly inexpensive. Very clean rooms and lobby, with friendly staff, and rooms that had everything we needed. A nice free breakfast was included. We would stay here again.

Although the hotel was conveniently located to great stores, restaurants and even the theme park we planned to visit, the accommodations themselves could have been better. The cable service was missing several channels. The remote had no back to it. The shower rod was pulling away from the wall. The water would not get very hot, and the shower operator was rusted and hard to pull up. There was a dead bug smeared on the bathroom wall and the pillows were more like "half" pillows b/c they were so small. The ice-maker was non-functional and the laundry area was a joke. Continental breakfast was limited and had to be "dine in only," which was hard to get everyone dressed to be presentable for muffins. Other than that, we slept well.

The hotel seemed run down. We were tired and just wanted to sleep and go. It was not in a very good neighborhood.
