Air conditioning that is crazy loud, freight train overnight.

Property was very clean staff was awesome. Nice immediate area.

Excellent location. Wonderful little spot in a high crime city. Close to the large bay ferry and the complimentary Alameda ferry. Very nice dining venues next to hotel. There is garage parking next to hotel. The bart station is a 15min walk which is safe. Amtrak stop is a few steps from the hotel.

I did like or realize until we were there was not self-parking, and hence you essentially had to pay for valet-parking. Therefore, it was always time consuming and problematic getting your car when it was needed.

I don't know Oakland well and thought there would be a lot of activity in the streets, and that Jack London Square would be a happening place. It was a healthy walk from BART around 6pm on a Monday, but I basically so no one but a few folks who seemed on hard times so I was nervous about the location. What made up for it was my room--very spacious, very clean and new-feeling, cute design elements, very comfortable. There was a balcony, which could've been great--views of the Marina--but it's covered in bird crap. Since my room was on the 2nd floor, I felt like I was almost eye to eye with folks hanging around who, again, seemed like they were going through hard times. I kept to myself in my room. I was there for work, so I wasn't exploring the hotel neighborhood during the day and met up with friends in cool neighborhoods for dinner. One morning I went for a run along the marina and saw just enough people to feel safe, but far fewer people than I would expect on a waterfront path in a city. One night I went to Plank, the nearby bowling alley/arcade/restaurant/bar steps away and had pizza. It was fine. Weird location, but I don't know Oakland well enough to know where would've been better. Loved the room.

We have stayed here before. Everyone is always helpful and courteous. Room more than met our expectations.

Overall good experience. I was in town to watch the Mariners play their final series in Oakland. The hotel was a great location. 10 minute drive from stadium, 15 minute drive to airport and the ferry into San Francisco was next door to the hotel. Pros: location, pool was nice, several restaurants within walking distance, great views of the marina. Cons: $40 a night for parking, no in room coffee and not a lot of options close by. Overall it was great and would not hesitate to recommend to others.

It started after we made our reservation. All of a sudden, fraud credit card attempts were being made. Four attempts at Seawold Parks, Bruno’s Pizza, City of Stockton Utilities and California Water Service. Clearly someone with access to their booking system used the credit card number or passed it along. Luckily it is an Apple Credit Card and all charge attempts were declined and we were notified at every attempt. We paid for valet parking, but now a month afterwards we received a parking ticket in the mail. It turned out that the valet parks the car on public parking spots on the street, without feeding the meter. We would be better off parking on our own and feeding the meter all night. Much cheaper.
