Chicago Lake Shore Hotel

Very nice room. Nice facility overall. Most everything extra has a fee. WiFi day rate for low and higher $ for broadband. Parking is not free, ramp $35/night, validate at front desk for in/out privileges.

If there was mire honesty about the hotel you wouldn't be so dissapointed its $50 a night max. Its an old unsafe motel on a highway.

My family and I had to find a hotel for the last night at last minute due to electrical issues in our home. I booked our room via hotel.com app as I do for all my stays. On the website it stated that a $50 deposit would be requested when I check in, no problem. Upon checking in I was informed by the hotel desk clerk that the deposit would be $100. When I asked why, when the website said another price, he continued to say it would be $100. I asked him to show me in writing exactly where it states that there is a $100 deposit. The clerk could not validate the amount as well as he informed me that it's not his problem what is on the site. Due to it being late, we gave the card information for the deposit. Upon checking out there were 2 women at the front desk, when I asked for a receipt for the night's stay that told me they could not provide me with one, which raised a flag. I then asked for a receipt for the deposit , again they informed me they could not give me one even though I paid it to them directly. I asked for a manager, I was informed one was not on duty and they handed me a business card. If it wasn't for the fact the room was non-refundable, I would have taken my family elsewhere. I would never stay at this hotel again, not matter the urgency. I would be contacting their corporate office as well. Please BE WARE before booking this hotel, due to hidden policies that they can't provide you with and expect you to just take thier word for it.

It was hard to find this hotel by public transportation. All staffs are kind and friendly. However, I couldn't use WiFi at all for two nights in the room and the room condition was not perfectly clean. I could see some stain on bedding. By the way, breakfast quality is quite good, though.

I stayed at the Chicago Lakeshore Hotel on June 17-18, 2023, and my experience was terrible. The room smelled like mold and damp, and there was visible mold around the bathtub. The carpet was filthy, and I saw bugs crawling along the baseboards on the floor. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who values cleanliness and hygiene.

Nice it's pet-friendly, but internet is very bad in the back corner of area. Was expecting at least a small fridge but didn't have one.

Undergoing construction, pool empty, food service non-existent except for a short breakfast in the main building. Rooms outside of main building were just bad, ours did not have all lamps working, had to make a setup using my extension cord. No provisions for ADA persons.
