Riviera Hotel Beirut

Staff and food are great ! Everything else is a nightmare ! Old hotel, needs urgent renovation. 3 swimming pool s, BUT : 1 not working, 1 forbidden for kids, and the ones that was for kids, was with broken ceramic ! Bathroom old and broken. Shortly : NEVER AGAIN !

TV wasn’t working - loose wiring Welcome cookies were placed - but had ants

Beautiful location on Beirut corniche , facing the Mediterranean and in the centre of city close to Hamra and Beirut downtown and Beirut nightlife . The staff are very helpful and friendly.

Perfect location on the Corniche, walking distance to Hamra. If you love to start your morning or end your evening with a walk or run, look no further! Comfortable room, great breakfast, good dinner menu. I had a couple issues with service on the first day and they were fixed and did not recur in the remaining 5 days. Conference services were excellent, very accommodating. Good internet.

Not so good due to a construction site next to it which caused noise without getting rest . The hotel needs a full renovation

The hotel need renovation , but they have good location nice vue on the sea but the corner foom in bad condition

My wife have high blood pressure And hotel doesn’t turn AC during winter time Even with temperatures above 75 out side and 80 degrees in room And lots of small insects in room and bathroom Really bad experience

My reservation was for a deluxe single room of 24sqm and a sea view corner... what I got a smaller room and a something you can’t really call a sea view neither a corner.

Great location, old inside the rooms need renovation. Service is good, breakfast is great.

Riviera is a landmark on the Beyrouth seafront, and an institution to which Lebanese remained attached throughout good and bad times. The facilities are aged and dumpy despite a post war makeover with paint cracking everywhere, a broken TV frame (room 307), very negligent hygiene (balcony was outright dirty and the mattress had repulsive unremived stains). But despite all this, one could forget about any inconvenience given the unrivaled sea views and the location that cannot be bested, had it not been for the worst hotel staff that we have ever encountered. Outright incompetence, lack of managerial experience and issues remaining unresolved. The housekeeping staff is verging on insolence and the valet team is literally running a shop within a shop. Our driver could not pull over to pick us up as he was immediately asked to remove the car which created scenes of chaos and continuous stress for us. When asked to speak to the hotel manager I was answered that there was no manager on site. The pool staff asks hotel guests for extra charges for the use of some sun beds, a practice unheard of anywhere else, which could have been ok had the said personnel showed any courtesy as opposed to outright vulgarity and a lack of command of any covers animal skills in either English or French, or any other non Arabic Idioms.
