"Outdoor Activities with Resort Feels"

8.0

Great place. Hot tip: go to the lobby for their signature water everyday. They also have water fill stations all over the resort . 10-20 min drive from most attractions, but a lot to do if there is good weather.

This was an awesome location for my USMA Class of 1978 mini-review. The staff was very attentive and professional. All areas were immaculate.

"Golf Play and Stay at Boar's Head is a must!"

I always love my time at Boar's Head. From check in to check out the process is smooth and greeted by smiles. The staff is great and the golf at Birdwood is superb!

"Get a massage with Amitra"

8.0

Spa "service" fee is a rip off (charged on top of massage price (which literally is a service fee) and on top of gratuity. That said, Amitra at the spa is a great massage therapist. Room was dated and had a weird Jefferson quote in the bathroom, but hotel room was quiet and the place is nice. Pool and other elements could use a rehaul to make it more than a nice hotel with a golf course.

"Wonderful stay at Boar‘s Head Resort"

10.0

We really enjoyed our stay at the Boar‘s Head Resort. We were in 715 which was a beautiful room with a nice balcony and view of the lake. We were visiting several local vineyards and this location was perfect. We also enjoyed breakfast in the Mill Room as well as two delicious dinners. We will definitly stay here again the next time we are in Charlottesville.

"Spring stay to visit our daughter"

10.0

We stayed 3 nights in a lake-view room on the top floor. The property view was lovely, the bed was very comfortable, and the room was nice. The only negatives were that the air conditioning unit was quite loud every time it kicked on and off, and there was no elevator in the building. We had to carry our luggage up 2 flights of stairs.

"Pleasant stay"

8.0

We found the grounds beautiful, the sports complex exceptional. Enjoyed a lovely pool workout with Lisa. We had the privilege of making friends with Rayshaun, I’m suggesting his title be elevated to the Boars Head Welcoming committee. He always had a smile and we enjoyed laughing with him. Breakfast was my favorite meal at The Mill Room, the avocado toast offered so many delicious touches I was reluctant to take my last bite. Lovely place.

"Tired, needs an overhaul"

4.0

The hotel is not up to the standards of à luxury stay. The rooms are tired, systems like plumbing and HVAC are failing. The restaurants were understaffed and they did not offer a sit down lunch option on weekends. I felt sorry for the staff!

"Too Expensive For What You Get"

4.0

The place itself is beautiful but not worth the money. It was way too expensive for what you get. You’re better off going to a local hotel and spending 3x less per night and just coming to the resort for golf. The golf course is one of Virginia’s best public golf courses and I understand why. The layout is great and the conditions are beautiful. If you’re coming for golf, it is worth the money. If you’re coming for the resort, then you’re better off going somewhere else. The staff was friendly all around, but it costs an additional $50+ to even have breakfast in the morning which is ridiculous as many other places have it for free. We only stayed 1 night which left us no time to take advantage of anything. We were not informed properly as to what we were able to use at the resort even if we had to spend additional money, it would be nice to know what we can and can’t do here. We had check-in at 4PM and golf shortly after and were left no time that night or in the morning before our 11AM checkout time to do anything at the resort. With this short window of time spent at the resort, it cost us over $300 and were forced to eat out for dinner and breakfast as the prices for food there is ridiculous. Overall, if you are coming for golf, great. But don’t stay at the resort. Spend money on a local hotel down the road and drive up to play golf. This is the best way to get the most out of your money.

"Mediocre at Best"

6.0

Normally, a stay at The Boar’s Head Inn is absolutely fantastic. However, this last stay was less than desirable. Plant maintenance issues, combined with confusion at check-in, led to a not so wonderful experience.
