Dear Booking.com Customer Support, I am writing to formally complain about a very disappointing experience with our recent booking at Sonesta Hotel in Chicago. We booked a room through Booking.com for three adults and paid approximately USD 350 per night. At no point during the booking process were we informed that the room we selected—an accessible room with one queen bed—could not comfortably or legally accommodate three adults. Had this information been clearly disclosed, we would never have booked that room. Upon arrival, the hotel informed us that because it was an accessible room, they could not provide a rollaway bed and that accommodating a third adult would be a safety hazard. This was extremely frustrating because the reservation itself had been accepted for three adults. It is unreasonable for customers to be allowed to book accommodation for three adults if the room cannot actually accommodate three people. Even more disappointing was the response from the hotel staff. Rather than trying to help resolve the situation, we were repeatedly told that it was our mistake and that the hotel was not responsible because the reservation had been made through a third party. We were advised that we should have booked directly with the hotel. This is not an acceptable response. Millions of travellers book through Booking.com, and customers should not be penalized for using your platform. Throughout our stay, we had to repeatedly approach the front desk and request assistance. We made numerous requests for a room change or a practical solution. Despite these repeated requests, the staff showed little empathy and were discourteous in their interactions. I would specifically mention the name of staff on the front desk Ms. Zohra for her rude and arrogant behavior. On the first night, our daughter was left with inadequate bedding and had to sleep on the floor, despite the carpet not being clean.

The hotel refuses to provide me with an invoice! Yet it is clearly written on Booking.com that Booking cannot provide an invoice, and that it is the hotel's responsibility. The hotel agents have been completely unhelpful and uncooperative. I cannot receive my work reimbursement because of this issue. IF YOU ARE TRAVELING FOR WORK AND NEED AN INVOICE, RUN AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL.

Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Location was good enough as it was close to tourist spots. Free breakfast. Standard sized fridge with ice maker. Huge living room and a separate bedroom area that was also spacious. Plenty of closet and drawer space for a long stay. Ironing board and iron within the room. Kitchen essentials within the room from utensils to pots and pans. Electric stove and microwave. Coffee maker if you don't want to go down for their 24/7 free coffee/hot chocolate/tea. TV in the living room and bedroom area with popular entertainment apps to choose from or you can watch cable channnels. Mini store in the lobby for some common medicine needed or some snacks or drinks.

Didn't have a room tag to hang on the door knob to tell them that my room is not ready to be changed or cleaned. During my 4-night stay, only one cleaning lady walked in the room although I did hear some knocks but I thought it was for another room. It was during the last day and I haven't even checked out the room yet. I'm guessing they don't clean rooms until around check-out day. Some utensils were not clean. There was no sponge or dish soap provided to even clean the dishes with... not even a dishwasher soap for the dishwasher. Construction was ongoing and it was directly right by my room for a few days even though I stayed at the top-most floor. A simple warning would have been nice or having them start later in the afternoon. However, they started on top of the morning around 8AM. Never did i think I would have people right outside my window especially that high up within the hotel so I had to shut the curtains multiple times while they worked there for the mornings I was there for.

Great Location, we had a Lakeview room.

Parking. We used valet parking ($70 per day). It took to much time to get your car.
