Richland Riverfront Hotel, an Ascend Collection Hotel

Good location, nice people, quiet.

We booked a ADA room. But the room we got had a full tub and no handheld shower hose. there was plenty of grab bars, mounted around the bathroom and a shower seat that barely fit in the tub. Also the door jam bottom was a 1 1/2 piece of wood so it was very hard to get a wheelchair over the threshold. The next morning I talked to the front desk and she was very helpful and considerate, but of course there was no role in shower rooms available to switch to. She made some calls and got us into one that afternoon. The bathroom was more accessible in the second room, although it didn’t look very clean with some splatter on the wall near the toilet ! And dusty corners. There was a handheld shower hose, but it was mounted so high an independent person without a caregiver in a wheelchair would never be able to reach. Also, the door threshold was a big chunk of wood to try to roll over. Something an independent person would not be able to navigate in a wheelchair. Over all the room was clean enough and comfortable. the outside infrastructure was crumbling concrete, and rusty bolts Holding up railings. The long concrete ramp up to the rooms would have been hard to navigate for a weaker person in a wheelchair or without a caregiver. We had breakfast once, it was a little worse that the average Sysco free hotel breakfast. There was also a random “resort fee”, but there was not much of a resort with a regular pool and a tiny exercise rooms and game room, nothing very resort like in my opinion. I would not recommend this hotel for somebody that is wheelchair dependent.

It is nice that they have bikes for rent and a game room and pool table.

Our bathroom stopped working and started flooding. We called the front desk and they said they couldn’t fix it or do anything until morning because they didn’t have maintenance there. They would not comp me the room they offered a $50 discount which I do not feel is enough for having a room with no working bathroom. The front desk gave me a card with an email that is invalid so there’s nothing I can do. Fortunately my group booked two rooms so we were able to use the bathroom in the other room but it was not a good experience. Regret staying here.

Amazing value, great location, fun pool, good breakfast.

Outdoor areas could use updating (paint, etc.) but this place is TOTALLY amazing for the price!!!

The breakfast was the best part, and it was just okay.

We got there earlier than expected, and wanted to check in early if possible. The hotel was obviously not full at all. There were not very many people there, and plenty of rooms available. We had baseball games to go to so we asked if we could check in early. and they said no. A littler on, as it got closer to 3:00, we asked again, and they said we could check in if we paid $25. It was already almost $200 for one night as a below average hotel, so we said no.
