Lake Vyrnwy Hotel & Spa

The setting was wonderful and provided a great view from both bedrooms, the dining room and the balcony outside the bar. The staff were friendly and their dog policy suited us just fine. We enjoyed the evening meal which was well presented and tasty. The breakfast was very satisfying as it included a buffet and cooked options.

Some of the plumbing was dated making it difficult to turn off some taps, but this was not an issue for us.

The view is awesome , location and effort from the staff were excellent. The old world feeling of the hotel and surrounding's is top notch. Please Please Please buy the pumping station and put some lights on it , it would make such a difference to the views. Breakfast was good and the service was as I say excellent.

The hotel needs a good refurb. The bathroom had a lot of mold round the shower. The aircon in the spa was thick with dust and again a lot of mold around the floors and walls. At 4 stars I would expect better so while not being a complete game changer it did raise a few eyebrows. The pillows were stained and the headboard was showing signs of the last few guests still. The food as well was basic for the price the evening meals were not great but priced 5 or 10% more that I was really happy with paying for what we got. Not a total loss like I said but constructive criticism. TBH I don't think we were the usual clientele so maybe anyone else would of been happy with the hotel and I'm expecting too much, I know they are usually fully booked. Would probably not stay again but we did enjoy our stay so thanks but no thanks. :)

The staff and service received was exceptional. Both evening meal and breakfast was well presented and adequate for us. Had some treatments in the spa which I would highly recommend.

Due to the age of the property, it could do with some form of modernising. Our room was big and felt cold and looked outdated.

Views were great

Shower flooded. Stool in the room broken. Water bottles were half drunk when we arrived. Incredibly hot and stuffy room, the weather was exceptionally hot tbf, but no fans and window only opened an inch. No regard for food allergies. Was the waiter's fault, not the kitchen.
