"Not for families"

The hotel is ok for groups of blokes but I would have been very disappointed if taking a wife/family, it was very tired and basic. The breakfast was good.

"The location is not bad but come on...."

The room had a disgusting dirty old carpet. Short shower curtain lets all the water over the floors. The TV has only 2 English channels. Extremely outdated place. They did not even change my bed sheets!

"Good location, great value"

I booked the Monopol for a weekend break and to watch the local football team play on the Saturday. I had my match ticket delivered directly to the hotel, which was waiting at reception upon my arrival. The location is close to the main train station and a short walk to the nearest U Bahn station. The main attractions of the city are a little further away by foot but easily accessible by public transport. The room was comfortable and contained everything you would expect a standard city hotel to have. The staff were friendly, multilingual, however for those who wished to converse in German, the staff don't reply back in English. The buffet breakfast was excellent, with hot and cold offerings, refreshed throughout the service period. I would defiantly recommend this hotel based on my experience and requirements.

"Good location"

The hotel was in a really good location - near to the main train station and the old town. Staff were also very helpful. The hotel was quite basic but given the price we paid, I was quite happy with my choice.

"Pleasant hotel in downtown Düsseldorf "

Clean room with bathroom in a 3 Star hotel , close to Ubahn station (2mins walk) and 5-10mins from Hauptbahnhof (walking). Good breakfast available and helpful staff. Aldstadt and central Düsseldorf is 2 Ubahn stops, so very close to centre (Ubahn ride is 5 mins), Depends what you are looking for in a hotel: if you just want a room for a night in a clean conveniently located hotel in Düsseldorf that is of reasonable price, and has all the facilities you need for this, the hotel Monopol is a good choice.

"Hotel location very good for city an trains"

Good clean helpful staff location fantastic for exploring areas around Düsseldorf and enjoying the very beautiful city of Düsseldorf . Overall the location made everything so easy to do
