There was no one upon arrival. Breakfast & tour was included but we could not get in touch with anybody. There was no breakfast, dining area closed & main house locked, no tour. We definitely did not het what we paid for. The whole reason we went out of our way to stay here.

"Historical, quiet, serene and relaxing!!"

10.0

We had a 2 night stay at Loyd Hall! Best choice we've made... It was the mist peaceful and relaxing weekend. Everything was beyond our expectations. The house we stayed in was very clean, the bed was comfortable. Plenty of pillows and extra was available if we needed. The restroom was clean and in case we would have forgotten body wash, shampoo, conditioner, or lotion their was plenty available. The kitchenette was clean and stocked with plenty of coffee, creamer and sugar. They also provide 2 complimentary bottles of water and chips... Their was alot of historical feels in the house we stayed in, but it was also not outdated. The tour of the Main house, was beyond what we expected. Very much detailed and so much history to learn about. This Historical home has alot of history inside of it. The outside was very neat, alot of history their as well... Lots of stuff around too look at. The pool was a nice accommodation as well, especially in August. The housekeeper was very helpful and if anything was needed, she was on it. A trip, we will always remember! We will definitely be going back soon. It was so quiet and peaceful!! A huge difference from the "everyday life hustle"!! Overall, if you haven't stayed at the Loyd Hall, please do yourself a favor, and book you a night or two and enjoy!!

We had a 2 night stay over the weekend at Loyd Hall Plantation. We stayed in the Magnolia... The cottage was very clean, the bed was comfortable, plenty of towles, hand towels and wash cloths. We were asked if we needed anything, which we did not. There was Bidy wash, soap, shampoos, conditioners and lotion in the restroom if any was needed. Plenty of coffee, creamer and sugar. The lady thay is the housekeeper went above and beyond to make sure all was good. Over all the stay was amazing and we will be going back soon!

"A Delightful Stay"

10.0

Loyd Hall Plantation is a lovely place. My daughter and I recently enjoyed a four-night stay in the Magnolia Cottage on Loyd Hall's grounds. The room was lovely. The pillows were fluffy, and the bed was comfortable. The breakfasts we enjoyed were delicious. Mindy, who cooked the breakfasts, was very gracious and helpful.

"Serene but dilapidated condition "

Very serene and peaceful, great pool, but cottages are incredibly outdated. Everything was broken or didn’t work. Holes in the walls and ceiling. Incredibly overpriced.

"Beautiful Main House with the cottage’s having the potential to be exceptional"

8.0

This has been the hardest review of our trip to write, it’s a beautiful house but we were disappointed with some aspects. Just a I night stay on our drive from San Francisco to Florida. Loved the idea of being in the middle of nowhere with a bit of history thrown in. On arrival the main house from the drive is stunning, we were staying in the Commissary around the back by the pool. Due to a storm the day before the pool didn’t look it’s best but understandable. Sadly the overall appearance of the cottage’s outback were a little tatty as the paint was peeling off, inside ours we felt it was a bit more shabby than shabby chic. The tap in the bathroom was covered in limescale, both the back and front doors did not open fully as they caught on the floor, the shower door would not open and close properly and as there were just two of us it would have been nicer to not have the sofa made up as a bed. The good points The room was clean and the bed comfortable, towels were so soft and toiletries and coffee were plenty. Everything you need for your stay was in the kitchen. The peace and quiet was amazing, we sat outside with a bottle of wine until sunset when we came in due to the mosquitoes. Next morning breakfast was served in the main house, sadly the lady who gives the house tours had passed away a couple of day before so we looked round ourselves, the rooms in the main house were stunning, wished we had book one of these. Mindy had cooked us breakfast, it was one of the best we have ever had in a hotel or guesthouse, especially her pancakes. Mindy was a lovely girl and an exceptional host, we enjoyed speaking with her and also Chris the handyman. Mindy explained that there are renovations going on, which we could see around the main house but the cottage’s need work to bring them up to the same standard as the rooms in the main building. This place has the potential to be exceptional. Mindy you are a star!
