Star Hotel

Lovely clean room. Pub food was great, good value. Staff really friendly, lovely homely feel. Great sense of humour.

Friendly welcome and easy check-in. The room (#1) was adequate for my needs with a comfortable bed, en suite toilet and shower. Breakfast is taken in the bar adjoining the hotel and was 1st rate with cereal, fruit, yoghurt and juice before a cooked full scottish to follow.

The village of Twynholm is small and very quiet, and as a result, every little noise is heard. In addition, the bar/restaurant at the hotel only operates on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I stayed on a Thursday and so cannot comment on how good or otherwise the hospitality is at the weekend. I am, however, sure that it would be just as good a welcome as I received when I was there.

Being locked out of the hotel due to the yale being deadlocked was not ideal. No emergency contact available. Door bell not heard and had to leavr voicemaol. Luckily bedroom window was not loackable so ended up having to climb through my room window otherwise it would of been a night in thr car. There was no real follow up or concern that this had happened. Room could of done with a deep clean. The wardrobe was filled with a spare mattress. Unable to leave much of value in the room due to the window not being lockable. Will not be bringing my business here again and im pleased my clients stayed elsewhere.

Nice hotel in a quiet location. Room was lovely and comfortable and well equipped. Breakfast was really nice freshly cooked and good quality ingredients .

Rooms a bit tired and dated. No control for heating, so couldn't work radiators. Room was really cold 🥶
