Star Hotel

Good location for touring. Kim, the owner is very friendly and helpful. The room was well equipped and comfortable.

I was disappointed that there were no evening meals during the week.

Unfortunately the pub and restaurant was closed no shops etc ..pouring down but the lovely land lady who just happened to stop buy helped us out and sold us a bottle!

The food was top class

Good breakfast. Excellent location adjacent to A75.

Office seat collapsed. Slight leak from toilet cistern. Got bitten by insects.

Very comfortable, good breakfast and owner was very friendly. Bathroom needs a little tlc. Shame no evening meals during the week as there’s nowhere else around there to get a meal.

Lack of off street parking

Room was a good size, on the ground floor. Bed was comfortable. TV was good.

WiFi was nonexistent. The pub/restaurant that is attached to the room is only open Friday to Sunday, so NO FOOD OPTICIANS DURING THE WEEK!! I wouldn't have booked this place if they had said that upfront. It's a pokey little hamlet/village with nothing else there. There's a breakfast wishlist with tick box options which you're then supposed to hand into the bar the night before, but the bar is closed!! So no breakfast either!! All it would have taken is to state that in the main advert for the place. Very disappointing stay. Next time I'll stay in Kirkcudbright or Castle Douglas.
