Sensi Azores Nature and SPA

Sensi is a marvelous boutique hotel, we had a wonderful stay. The tucked away setting with views of the Atlantic going on into the horizon is so special, you really feel like you're at the end of the world. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a calm, beautiful base, provided they know they will need to drive far sometimes to visit other parts of the island. This did not bother us at all, as we enjoyed driving around to visit as much of the island as possible during our 5 day visit. We enjoyed the spa very much, as well as the hotel restaurant Momo, and bar. Special thank you to Joana, who kindly helped us organize our stay both from afar and once we were at Sensi. The level of attention from all the staff was wonderful. One thing to note is that the hotel does allow babies and children, if that is something that bothers you. It did not bother us at all and we hope to bring our own young children one day.

Absolutely exceptional stay! The service, the ambiance, the setting, the spa, the restaurant….we could go on. I would honestly say this is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. You feel the small, family-owned vibe and yet no detail is overlooked; no overpriced hotel chain here. The hospitality and energy of the staff is beautiful - they take pride in what they do and are warm and welcoming. Cocktails were so creative and delicious! Restaurant for dinner and breakfast was perfect; we would have made the trip for the restaurant alone (Momo) even if we hadn’t been staying there (try the ceviche and the tuna!) We used the sauna and pool(s) every day and its open until very late (a bonus!) And, you can order drinks to the spa as well. Romantic vibes and wonderful view from this quiet and serene location. Not a complaint but a warning - there are many birds and they are loud in the very early hours. Nothing some earplugs won’t fix to fully enjoy the serene and peaceful location. Book this stay - you won’t regret it!

This property is beautiful, serene, peaceful - exactly what we were hoping for as the last stop on our honeymoon. I have two complaints - ants.. all over our hotel room. The front entry door to our room did not seem to be appropriately sealed so there were a decent amount of ants during our stay throughout the room. Additionally, I am a relatively fit American and acknowledge the difference in food culture between American serving sizes and European... SENSI brought this discrepancy to a new level. I am of the mind that American serving sizes are far too large which contributes to our national obesity problem.. SENSI portions (breakfast, room service, Momi Restaurant) were VERY small. I ordered the chef special of french toast for breakfast one morning, I am not joking when I say that I received 1/2 slice of bread... I ordered a brownie and ice cream desert one evening, there was one tablespoon of ice cream accompanied by very small brownie squares. We avoided eating at the hotel to the extent we could for this reason - we did not have this challenge anywhere else during on our 18 day stay in various parts of Portugal.

We loved our stay. Staff was wonderful, location beautiful, restaurant excellent. Our room was slightly disappointing— no place to put luggage except floor, door stop in floor in bathroom protruded out of floor and we both stubbed our toes, no shelf in shower to put anything, non removable hangers and short closet space which made it difficult to hang dresses. These were all little disappointments, but we still loved our stay. Dinner was excellent as was the bar with very fresh and inventive cocktails. All serving staff were knowledgeable and very welcoming. We would definitely return.

We have stayed in three different hotels in Sao Miguel and Sensi definitely surpassed the other two. From the quality of service to the relaxing secluded premises, not forgetting the top quality of the cocktails and the restaurant (best one on the island from far): you cannot go wrong by going to Sensi. The team was also super helpful in helping us organising our activities (very last minute) and made it work with our existing plans. 100% recommend!

We spent five wonderful days at the Sensi Hotel and absolutely loved it. The views are amazing, the rooms cozy, and we really enjoyed the indoor pool and an excellent spa treatment. Both breakfast and dinners at Mômô were delicious. But above everything else, it’s really the team who made our stay so special. Nowhere else have we encountered such genuine warmth, friendliness, and good vibes as from the entire Sensi team. It’s a great hotel, but the staff are what truly set it apart. We’d return anytime. Thank you!

Great boutique resort right on the coast. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Great service and location

We did not stay at this hotel but during our trip to Azores Island we came here twice: first for a drink in the afternoon and the second, for a massage at the spa to be followed by a dinner. When we first visited for a drink, we loved the atmosphere: looking into the vast ocean, with a soothing decoration and attentive service, this place looked like a great option for a retreat. Therefore, on the last day of our Azores trip which was pretty tiring with a lot of walking, we came again to have a rest. The massage was not exactly what we were hoping for but nevertheless we liked it. This hotel is rather for relaxation than an accomodation center for a sight seeing trip.
