Sensi Azores Nature and SPA

Amazing resort! Blew away anywhere else we stayed during our 8 days in the Azores. The staff were so nice and accommodating. Food at the restaurant top notch for lunch and dinner. Bartenders fun to hang out with. We didn’t do any spa services, more concentrated on excursions and exploring the beautiful coast and mountains surrounding the property. Already highly recommended this location for friends and family.

Beautiful resort, great amenities, very helpful staff. The breakfast was amazing! Not very many restaurants close by but the food at the hotel was very good.

Distinctly underwhelming, overrated and overpriced hotel. Here’s why: 1. We stayed one of three nights at room 11, one of the most expensive ones, an ‘Atlantic Deluxe’. One of the stone walls was paper-thin, so we could hear every little noise from the neighboring room. TV set, talking on the phone, coughing, even yawning. Upon brining this up in the morning I was told I would get feedback from the ‘management’, which was conveniently absent from the location. Even after 3 days no comment, no free drink from the bar, no soup of the day on the house. Simply unacceptable. 2. The premises are home to an epic population of house sparrows. The males chirp from the break of dawn to the end of dusk, without a single break. Some people may perceive this as romantic, but in fact it is very annoying. Since the doors to the rooms are very light (not to say cheap), even closed windows will not help since the noise will come in through the badly fitted doors. Further, these birds poo around the whole area and this is not taken care of. The birdlife around the hotel is house sparrows only, no biodiversity whatsoever. There are ways to keep these populations at bay, but the hotel does not care. In fact, they frame it as ‘birds singing in the countryside’. Which is simply false because you will not find any house sparrows away from human settlement. Again, the ‘management’ was not available to talk to. No drink from the bar, no soup of the day on the house. And they wouldn’t let us cancel the two remaining nights (zero refund). 3. The spa is a joke. They did the absolute minimal setup so they could call it ‘Nature and Spa’. The so-called Turkish bath is hardly lukewarm and there is no way to rinse the surfaces with water. In general, the spa area is tiny, and it is passion- and lifeless. 4. There is more like you cannot go for a walk without driving and mediocre breakfast, but I will stop here. Summing up: If you want to overpay for a hyped up, ridiculously expensive and epically house sparrow infested place, do so but it is very much not recommended.

We stayed here in FEB 2024, and we honestly can't wait to return. It is hands down the best hotel experience we've ever had. Even before our arrival, they were always very prompt in replying to emails, and answering questions. Every single staff we interacted with, from check-in to check-out, were always friendly, professional and in some instances, went above and beyond in helping us figure out our after hours car rental return. The handwritten welcome note, and complimentary bottle of wine in our suite was personalized and impressive. Every cocktail was delectable, every meal was delicious. The room, the entire property, everything was spotless and very well maintained. We can't wait to return. This was the perfect place for some well needed R&R.

Staff was friendly and professional.

Our first visit was on March 20th, the second visit was on April 3rd. The place is located near the ocean and has a very beautiful location with sunset views. We were welcomed both times by very warm and lovely staff. The food we ordered was the best we have experienced on São Miguel! The two waitresses treated us like kings/queens - and we felt like beeing it! At our second visit we were so lucky to meet the owners who told us the story behind the place. Amazing! We will of course come back next time we come to São Miguel.

My wife and I had an amazing stay at Sensi Azores Nature & Spa. This is truly a boutique hotel that offers a relaxing and welcoming experience. The staff throughout were amazing, especially the bar and restaurant staff. The food was delicious and the bar staff made great cocktails. Every morning, the included breakfast offered the freshest local cheeses, breads, fruit, and assortment of hot offerings made to order. Everything we ate at the hotel was delicious. We enjoyed a couples massage that was fantastic. We stayed in one of the rooms overlooking the ocean and it was perfect. Beautiful patio, modern bathroom, and comfortable bedding. The customer service at this hotel is truly that of a five star hotel. We would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing stay in the Azores!

I really loved this hotel! It’s in a beautiful location with awesome views of the ocean, the staff is very attentive, and the rooms are well appointed! We arrived before our room was ready and were directed to the spa where we could relax in the pool, sauna, and Turkish bath, which was great after a red eye flight. The food in the restaurant was pretty good! There was some interesting things on the menu like the triggerfish hotdog which was fun to eat.
