Sensi Azores Nature and SPA

I have traveled A LOT and stayed in a lot of resort type accommodations. I have to say that Sensi was such a great experience that I have to write a heartfelt review. Accommodations: so quiet, relaxing and comfortable! The rooms are spacious and our view of the ocean was beautiful. They are very waste conscious, but will get you anything your need which is nice. That said, don’t expect to stuff a bunch of amenity kits in your luggage:) Staff: unbelievably kind, warm, and welcoming. Anything you needed, they were there and followed up! Food: when I travel, I rarely dine at the hotel restaurant…that was not the case here. MOMO is excellent even if you are not staying. It was so good I think we tried the majority of the menu over our 6 night stay. The breakfast is also incredible. Even the orange juice was unreal. They are also extremely accommodating to dietary needs. Also, Leona, our waitress most nights, was incredible. She as just so lovely and there are just no words for how well she took care of us. Location: Really close to Sete Ciudades, but, if you rent a car, you can access everything. All in all I highly recommend! PS when the owner is there, so are his really really sweet dogs…they were a surprise accommodation. Thank you Sensi!

This is truly a boutique hotel and I mean that in the best possible way. The rooms, restaurant, property, bar and gardens are all beautifully attended to for every detail and the comfort of the guest in mind. The staff is very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. The restaurant was also great for both breakfast and dinner.

The location, room, view, bar and restaurant are all fantastic. We had both dinner and breakfast in the restaurant and I can’t say more about how wonderful it was - food and service. I only wish we’d stayed longer.

Outstanding resort! The detail in achieving excellence is definitely felt and very much appreciated. Staff treated my husband and I like royalty and were so attentive to every need, usually exceeding it —- especially when it came to comfort, safety, and informative vacation options. We highly recommend Sensi Azores Nature and SPA.

A beautifully situated small hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Good sized rooms, and we were very happy to have our first impressions about the restaurant corrected. It looks like it is a fairly standard bistro menu but the quality of the food was excellent. There are proper bar staff who can can advise on wine (and make decent cocktails). Staff are (almost) universally charming. Maybe a touch too polite, because it would not do any harm to tell customers not to shout into their phones in the dining room…

We had a really great stay at this very beautiful and calming hotel..The hotel room was very elegant and comfortable with a very nice bathroom. Everything was spotlessly clean. The food here is delicious! Breakfast is amazing with a great continental breakfast with cheese, ham and fruit and pastries along with a choice of entree. The tea, coffee and fresh juice is great. The staff in the Dining room for breakfast and dinner are so nice and do an excellent job. Our favorite meal was breakfast though due to the great food and lovely staff member who served us each day and even asked about our days hiking and sightsering. The bar lounge is gorgeous and a lovely place for a pre dinner drink. Dinner has some nice choices all very well prepared. The hotel location is excellent. It is located down a quiet road so there is no car noise. It is located near to the thermal waters at Ferraria and just 15 minutes drive to the village of Sete Cidades where great hikes await! We had a wonderful stay and would like to return!

We stayed here for 3 nights towards the end of a trip where we had got engaged, I booked it as a surprise for my other half and for the price paid it just wasn’t worth it. I was so disappointed. Having stayed in many places globally for business and leisure it just didn’t measure up. I agree with the review written by Vernland and assume it was he who we bumped into at a natural spa pool on the coast during our stay as we shared the same views on the hotel and staff. The plunge pool was too cold to get any use out of. Pool slots were booked up, and relied on having a schedule for the day. The weather in the Azores doesn’t really lend itself to that. We were led by the weather the entire time. Booking dinner was a farce. We couldn’t be accommodated and ate elsewhere. Breakfast was just weird, it’s all brought out rather than being able to select what you want as is usually the case with a continental. It’s presented nicely but I wanted to be able to choose what I ate instead of one of this and half of that. We arrived in a deluge and our passports were demanded instantly, we couldn’t go to our rooms and retrieve them from our luggage and return to the desk with them. I’d already paid in full and had other sources of ID on me so that was our introduction to the hotel. For a small hotel the car park was often full and we had to squeeze back in when returning from day trips. We held off writing a review because there wasn’t anything horrendously wrong with the place. It’s beautiful and the location is great it was just a pretty average experience that we overpaid for. The hospitality let’s it down. Room amenities weren’t great, they look pretty. They aren’t particularly practical or comfortable. We will likely return to the Azores but not to this hotel.
