ibis Caen Centre

The property was fine and in line with its prospectus. The room was a little cramped and smelt of cigarette smoke (even though it was a non smoking room and the staff made a big effort to rectify the problem. The absence of facilities in the room (eg coffee making) was disappointing. But the hotel was modestly priced and well situated.

Not the usual welcome, brusque and declining to speak English Fortunately, the check-out was good. The breakfast zone was too busy, with a couple of coach groups at the same time

OKAY but not up to usual Ibis standard. Good location right in town centre.

Clean well run budget accommodation with friendly and helpful staff

It was Ok

The location is great being in the centre of Caen near pubs and restaurants. They have their own car park under ground which was convenient and useful. Our room looked like it was suitable with wide doors and a wet bathroom. I'm not really a fan of wet rooms but it was fine for one night. Reception spoke very good English and were pleasant and helpful. i5 minutes from the ferry to Portsmouth.

Very friendly and very helpful staff. The only really bad bit was that shower was more like a drizzle. It was also thus unresponsive...very cold for very long while, before you over control it to very hot. Other guests reported similar experiences. No hotel restaurant was available for dinner but there are very good restaurants close by - but book early. Breakfast was OK although there was no bacon on French bank holiday.

Great property, well located and with great service.

Perfect location, friendly staff. Parking charge is expensive though, especially for a motorcycle.

This hotel needs a renovation.
