Comfort Suites Stevens Point

The room was not clean; there was a big pile of dirt in our bathroom. The comforter smelled like puke. There was old chicken from KFC in our room. The hallway needed to be vacuumed. There were holes in the hallway walls. Paint was peeling in our room. The hot tub and pool are not accessible and we were not given any kind of discount for that. Also, vending and ice machines were tore out of the 2nd and 3rd floor. Had to walk downstairs to get ice. Our tiny hotel shampoos, etc., were either half-full or empty.

Nice hotel for a girls weekend get away. Easy to find.

DON'T stay here!!! NO POOL. I had a terrible experience with Jason, the manager. He was unprofessional and rude. Our air conditioner didn't work in our room, the pool was "under construction" and there was no breakfast. I brought my concerns to Jason and he refused to compensate us for our inconveniences and got rude with me. I should start by saying that I have small children and when looking for a hotel to stay in, it MUST have a breakfast and a pool. I would never even consider staying somewhere that didn't. We got to the hotel late after we had to take a detour (which was a horror story of it's own). Once we finally found the hotel and I got to check in, I didn't notice the sign on the wall that stated the pool was closed and there was no discounts given. I also didn't notice the air conditioner in our room didn't work until after the children were finally sleeping. Uhhh….well at least there was breakfast....NO there wasn't! I went to the breakfast area shortly after 8 (breakfast was stated to be 6-9) and there was nothing but coffee. Signs posted said that due to unforeseen circumstances there would be no breakfast and they were sorry for any inconveniences. What? Someone couldn't run to the Kwik Trip 1.5 blocks away and grab donuts for the customers. What a disappointment!!! The manager lied to me when I complained and said there was fruit and cereal available. I made these complaints and manager said he could do nothing due me booking on Expedia.

Booked this hotel to have a pool for the kids. When we arrived we found that the pool was under construction for major renovations. This was not mentioned to us online and because we had booked online we were not able to get a refund. What a huge disappointment.

We decided to stay here instead of our usual hotel because of the pool. From the first moment we walked through the door the experience was bad! Check in time isn't until 3. We did arrive early and checked to see if we could check in early. I was never greeted when I walked in and had to initiate the conversation even though the check out person watched me walk through the door over to the front desk. Just sat there and watched. She explained no rooms were ready for early check in but she did say she would see if housekeeping would get one ready for us. Since we were early we told her thank you but we'll come back at the check in time. We came back after 3 and checked in. The room was disgusting. It smelled REALLY bad and the bathroom had never been cleaned. The floor had hair all over. There was a dirty towel still hung over the shower rod and none of the towels had been replaced! The toilet and bathtub had mold. We went to the front desk and the manager was not pleasant but sent up housekeeping who only wiped down the floor and then explained they didn't have any 'bathroom cleaners' that day. We went back down to tell the manager and he said we were verbally abusive and called my husband a name I won't mention. That's when we demanded a refund and left. We went across the street to the hotel we usually stay at (we wanted a pool this time) and met 2 other families checking in that left the Comfort Suites for the same reasons we did!

Been going to this hotel for years for IOLA. Started off great but has gone down hill since. This last time The pool was still not open (at least 2 years its "being rebuilt"), the bathroom floor mat was soaking wet and body hairs on the floor between the toilet and bathtub. I stayed 3 nights and only ever came and restocked things, made bed, or took trash out once. Meanwhile the rates keep creeping up for IOLA week. Keep getting more and more disappointing in this place so I wont be back next year.

Front desk service was awful. Got up to my room and my keys didn't work so had to haul my bags all the way down again. The hotel and room smelled like smoke and also the AC barely worked. I had it set at 66 and it was hot as heck in there. Will NOT be returning and I suggest you look elsewhere as well.

I think overall the experience was not better than average. The main problem was the AC did not work for two nights and even though they looked at it and said all was well, it was not. The manager did however work out a somewhat satisfactory credit.

The pros - The price was very competitive The bed was comfortable The room was nice The night staff (one young woman who had to cover the desk, fix my room and take care of everything w/o backup) was great The cons The room had not been made up The door stuck so much it had to be fully yanked open There are construction materials lying on the ground Getting there is very hard as Stevens Point has cut off main roads near the hotel Note to management: No one, young or old, female or male, should be the lone night staff member of a major hotel. I might be willing to try to the hotel again after city construction and hotel construction are finished.

This is the worst hotel experience I have ever had. Hotel manager was very rude at check in. He was demeaning when talking to staff and guests in my opinion. Upon returning to room at 5:00 pm on third evening the room was not cleaned. I asked what was up and was told they were wprking on getting rooms cleaned. About 6:00 pm i found a housekeeping person on another floor and let her know my room was not clean. She seemed very stressed but said she would see that someone got to the room. When housekeeper came to room she looked very stressed and said they were behind because they were understaffed. I thanked her for getting to us. She said she would be done in about 20 mins. We returned in 30 mins to new towels but bed not made. Minutes later the manager was at the door accusing me of yelling and cursing at the housekeeping staff and saying I should be ashamed of myself for using such vulgar language in front of my grandson. I told him it was absolutely not me my grandson chimed in to add that i was very nice to all the people we talked to. I asked manager to bring the person up so she could see that I was not the person that yelled at her. He refused and said I had to leave immediately. I had prepaid and he said he would refund one night. We packed up and went to the the front desk to be told there would be no refund and that the police were on the way. Police arrived and said there was nothing they could do because its my word against his. We had to leave. TERRIBLE
