"noisy stay"

3.0

we were greeted by the staff who were very friendly and helpful and the meal was lovely

we were not told about a band that they had booked for our first night however it was mentioned to us while we were having our meal but we were told we wouldn't hear it we'd travelled down from yorkshire to the red lion so my husband and I were extremely tired also my husband is recovering from cancer and still receiving treatment which also makes him tired so we decided to go up to our room and get an early night however just as we tried to get some sleep at 9 o clock the band started drums, symbols and we could hear every word that was being sung we tried to put towels under the door but nothing would help quite the noise so we decided to have a drink and watch tv which we couldn't hear and had to turn the volume up to 40 to hear the noise didn't stop till 11 also the plug in the bathroom was permanently down with no way of getting it up so when you washed your hands or cleaned your teeth you had to wait until the water was drained away before you turned the water on again and finally the wardrobe door didn't shut but the mirror had several screws missing and we were worried it was going to come crashing down it didn't. So next morning we decided to forefit our second night and go home we live on the south coast and a lot of driving was done with very little sleep

"Lovely accommodation in village setting "

10.0

Very competitive price for a comfortable room. Accommodation( total of 4 rooms) was adjacent to and accessed via the village pub , but we did not hear a thing ! Nice outdoor space for relaxing or dining/ drinking. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we would definitely stay here again. Only considerations are staircase up to accommodation and breakfast is not served in the pub.

The staff here are so helpful and friendly. Nice garden very peaceful a great place to stay with lots of car parking and a local shop in the car park Great food menu wonderful.

One of the light fittings didn't work and the light above the sink also not working but a very cosy room and great shower.

"Overpriced and tired facilities"

5.0

The village setting and parking were perfect. The food in the bar was really nicely presented and hot. The staff were really friendly and helpful.

The radiator in the bathroom didn't work. We were provided with an electric fan heater, but we were nervous about using it in a bathroom, so we decided not to. Then we found that one of the bulbs had gone in the bedside lamp. We felt it was too late to inform the staff, so put up with one lamp. There were some very loud customers in the bar so we had to ask to be moved to a slightly quieter table for our meal. At no time were the 2 noisy customers asked to be a little quieter. The bar was directly below our room so we could hear the noise for the rest of the evening, unfortunately. On the whole we found it quite pricey for what was quite basic and tired looking rooms.
