Hyatt Place New Orleans Convention Center

The room was very comfortable. I enjoyed the in room coffee and liked that there was also a tea option. The Hyatt is located across the street from the convention center which made it very easy to get where I needed to go.

The shower was somewhat dirty and had mold in the corners. The toilet also had a ring in it, and one of the glass cups in my room had a lipstick stain on the side. I found it surprising that these items were not cleaned properly. I was very surprised to find that the front desk did not have any feminine hygiene products in the event of an emergency. Oddly enough, the convention center did not have any either. The only option was to walk down to the overpriced store a block down and purchase a tiny package of maxi pads for $18. I was attending a teacher's convention with over 8,000 people in attendance. 95% of the attendees are female, but there were no feminine hygiene products available anywhere without a price gauge. With so many other toiletries available at the front desk available to guests, I found the lack of feminine hygiene products to be sexist and old fashioned.

How close it was to the convention center.

Only one elevator was working. We were on the third floor, the ice machine was also not working so had to go up to the 4th to get ice.

No ofrecieron ni un vaso de agua.el segundo dia la mesera muy grosera recogia los platos de la mesa sin consultar, y andaba golpeando su cabeza con una botella de jugo y jalando sis pelos!

We had a two night pleasure stay. The guy checking us in seemed more annoyed than welcoming, but everyone we met after that was very nice. The hotel was well-appointed: what you’d expect from a good Hyatt. Breakfast was decent, but nothing special. One of the two elevators was out for the length of our stay. Between that and the finicky elevator security, there were long waits. Speaking of things that didn’t work, the internet was out for hours on day #2. The room was good with a comfortable bed, but the room had some really annoying quirks. I hate it when the toilet paper is mounted on the wall behind you requiring contortionist motions. Maybe it’s okay in your 20s, but in your 70s it’s a tough reach. There is a nice desk, but they put the coffee maker, microwave and phone on it reducing usable space to almost nothing. There’s room on the cabinet to the right. At least put the microwave there. Also, there were no electric outlets near the desk. Valet parking is the only option: pretty much the NOLA norm. Since we left our car parked for the duration, this location is nice for public transit. It’s a quick walk to the Julia station for the Riverfront streetcar. We made good use of the $3/day RTA ticket. Valet parking worked fine until departure day. Before we booked this hotel, I verified that we could get our car real early because I knew that we would be leaving around 3:30am. They p!romised 24 hour staffing for the hotel and parking. Before leaving the room, I called down to the desk and no one answered. We went downstairs and no one could be found. We wandered about the hotel for sometime without finding anyone. Calls to the hotel number went unanswered. I finally found someone in the kitchen who went and got someone to help who then woke up someone who could get the car. In all, it took about 40 minutes from leaving our room to driving away. This is not what I expect at a Hyatt!
