I arrived at Choice Comfort Inn in Charlotte at 9pm on Monday, January 19 for a one-night stay. I'm elderly and use a mobility aid. I called inside and Sam, front desk clerk came out. He seemed confused about my request for him to place my bags on a cart. He walked to a parked shuttle van and asked driver Akil to help me. I gave Sam my driver's license so he could begin checking me in. Akin offered to park my car while I began slowly rolling myself to the front door of the hotel. Sam insisted he needed a card to charge a $100 (one hundred dollars) deposit. I'm a Choice Privilege member and my stay was using 10,000 (ten thousand) points. I paid the deposit using a debit card. Sam and Akil promised it was only a hold and would be released when I checked out. The nightmare was getting started. I was assigned Room 124. On entering the room I noticed a folded towel and washcloth on the edge of the bed. Akil pointed out two pieces of peppermint candy on the washcloth. I was appalled at the suspicious housekeeping practice. I gave Akil $5 (five dollars) and told him to take the candy. After checking the bathroom, no towels. Room 124 was offline. I called front desk and told Sam about the problems with Room 124. He hung up without responding. Cynthia who came on duty at 10pm came to my room. When I pointed no towels, microwave not working, no place to hang my clothes, Cynthia offered me extra towels. Suddenly, Eddie popped in the room asking me, "Do you want to go somewhere else?" I asked Eddie his role at Comfort Inn Airport Charlotte. Eddie said he was shuttle driver trying to help Cinthia. I asked Eddie to leave the room. He and Cinthia left together. Knowing I couldn't stay in Room 124, I called desk and asked Cinthiq to find me another room. Dear Cinthia came and moved me to Room 126. Room 126 had same strange folde towel and washcloth on the edge of the bed. However, there was one towel set in bathroom, clothes rack and luggage rack. Cinthia got a desk chair. I didn't sleep a wink. On checkout, Heidi gave receipt for $100 charged to my card. Abby went to room to get my bags. I gave Abby my car keys to place my bags in my car. Abby walked away from my car leaving front passenger door open. Employees at this Comfort Inn are malicious. Hotel is a menace to be avoided.
