NH Pisa is the perfect stay in Pisa. Great facilities and staff the rooms are excellent and the location is so convenient for the train station and walking through the city.

We had an absolutely appalling experience at this hotel. On our last evening, we reported to reception that our toilet wasn't flushing properly before heading out. We returned at 11:30 PM, naturally assuming it had been fixed since no one told us otherwise. When we used and flushed the toilet, it completely flooded the bathroom. ​Reception were incredibly unhelpful and dismissive, claiming there was "nothing they could do because the maintenance man had gone home." This is both unacceptable ad irrelevant , as we had reported the issue hours earlier before leaving for the evening, so they had plenty of time to address it before he left. ​We pointed out that this meant we would have to walk down to the reception toilets in our pajamas in the middle of the night, and that we couldn't even use the shower because the floor was covered in toilet water - a real health risk. They still did absolutely nothing to help us. ​The next morning before checking out we mentioned it again. They simply kept repeating that there was a problem (too much paper in the toiler, or "somethung else" not sure what they were implying?!) but they couldn't do anything because they didn't know what it was, adding that they would "investigate after we had gone" as if that is a solution for They took no accountability. They either didnt understand or simply didnt care that they failed to provide the most basic health and hygiene measures for paying customers. No effort was made to appease us, and no recompense or refund was offered. Beyond unacceptable. Avoid.

Location - we chose the hotel for its proximity to the railway station, which provides a quick link from/to the airport on the PisaMover and of course trains to many destinations. Room - a very clean and modern room with a comfortable bed. If you want an Italian restaurant meal, try the Buca di San Ranieri just round the back of the hotel in a side street (Via Gian Battista Queirolo 25). The food and service were good, it wasn't too expensive, and the setting was elegant.

A walk-in shower would be desirable. It is difficult, even risky, for old people to climb into the bath for a shower. The room rates were quite high, especially at the weekend.
