Hampton Inn Duluth-Canal Park

The location was great. The room was clean. Thanks for allowing pets.

The cost is high during peak season.

Stayed for a weekend in October 2025. I'd call it average at best, particularly for its very high room rate. The floors and walls were some of the thinnest I've experienced. A family was in the room above us, and it's as if a rhinoceros was staying above us. Every step they took thundered, including in the middle of the night. Next door?--a barking dog, which you could also hear as if it was in the room. Same for when the neighbor watched television. The room itself was clean and appeared to have been recently renovated. The window, however, was broken: we tried to open it to enjoy the lakeside air (as we had paid even more for a lake view room) and it literally fell out of the frame. The breakfast was fine...a standard Hampton Inn breakfast. The breakfast area with the lake view was nice. The staff were a mixed bag. One woman was super friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said of the man who checked us in, who was stern and unfriendly. His welcome consisted of "credit card and ID?" and "fill out this form." It always mystifies me why people who clearly hate interacting with other people take a job (or get hired) in hospitality. The location was nice. It's in the Canal Park area is Duluth, right on the lake front path, with easy walking access to the touristy stuff in Canal Park and the restaurants and other attractions downtown. Overall? Very average, likely below average given the $300+ room rate.

I accidentally booked the wrong day. I never checked in. The hotel refused to refund the money. The booking was for during the week, not a peak weekend day.

Bed was horrible! Pillows were terrible and no options for different pillows uncomfortable sleep makes for an uncomfortable visit for the price, we expected a lot more
