Our hosts, Steve and Caz, were simply exceptional. Both welcoming, and informative when we needed any information. The breakfasts were of the highest quality and Steve was happy to provide variations of the main menu if requested. The location of Hillsdale was.perfect for exploring Ambleside and the northern part of Lake Windermere. There are cocktail bars, pubs and some very good restaurants within easy walking distance. Highly recommended.

Cannot fault anything.

Warm welcome with clear, well structured information regarding our stay. Room typically small English type but very well set up so not cramped, very comfortable and attractive. Loved the automatic low level lighting in the bathroom, a terrific feature. Also automatic lights in cupboard. Really quiet which was a surprise as in the heart of Ambleside. Excellent breakfast. Discount for evening meal really appreciated.

"Great stay - perfect B&B"

The property was lovely, clean and comfortable. Close to all amenities. The breakfast was first class. Steve the owner was very attentive to his guests too.

"Very pleasant and relaxing."

The location was good and parking was easy as we had a disabled parking badge. The hosts were welcoming and helpful. Our room was very pleasant and well appointed.

I cannot think of anything I disliked about the property.

It was very clean and bright b&b.Steve and Caz were very welcoming and made us feel at home.Also the Katie serving our delicious breakfast in the morning.
