Absolutely above and beyond! Walked in from the street to ask for a local taxi's telephone number after walking the 7 sisters . The people behind reception helped us so much , phoned a taxi and made sure we actually got it . If I visited Eastbourne to stay I definitely would choose this hotel the staff are exceptional . Thank-you from me my husband , daughter and little dog … Imperial Hotel who ever were on duty were a credit to be you .

"Lovely Hotel- would return"

8.0

Coach trip from South Wales, We had a lovely four days spent at The Imperial Hotel, Daish driver Martin was outstanding, he really looked after us all. The entertainment was average, dining room was busy. Staff were all pleasant and professional. Rooms were nice and comfortable. Just watch the weight of your suitcase, they charge £10 for anything over 15 kgs for handling

"Lovely short break"

10.0

Lovely 5 days away. Hotel is in a fantastic location. Right by the beach and minutes from the main shopping area. The buses for Brighton, Hastings etc run regularly and are easy to use. Not the nicest of views from our room but we always take the attitude, we’re only in there to sleep. Our room, whilst clean was a little disappointing. The divan bed and bedside table were broken and the springs were sticking through the mattress. The floor was also uneven and appeared broken/repaired in places. This was a problem as I’d informed Daishs before travel, mum has balance issues. When the room issues were reported to reception, the guy didn’t even acknowledge we were there for the first couple of minutes, and when he did, quite rudely snapped the hotel was full and I’d have to wait for maintenance. I’d like to point out he was the only rude member of staff we encountered. Big shout out to Joseph from the bar and the maintenance guy. They came to fix the bed and the cupboard, and Joseph got some new duvets to act as a mattress topper to hide the springs. Not ideal but it made the bed usable. He could not apologise enough. What an asset this guy is to the hotel. We saw him taking luggage to guests rooms, trying to fix our room, working on the bar, helping on reception and in the restaurant. The food was hit and miss and meal times seemed rushed. One set meal time for both breakfast and evening meal. For the price of the holiday, you can’t really complain. The waiting staff worked extremely hard to try and keep up with all the preorders. Nightly bingo and quiz followed by entertainment. Mostly good entertainment, but one evening she did manage to nearly empty the bar. Not sure if she was a regular act, but it made a good topic of conversation at breakfast the following morning. All housekeeping staff worked extremely hard and serviced the rooms daily. Think she was the housekeeping supervisor, lets just say the hotel wouldn’t need a tannoy system in an emergency, if she’s on shift🤣. Loved our stay and looking forward to returning.

"A great time"

10.0

Just back from 5 days at the Imperial hotel with Jason Edwards coaches and really had a good time. Yes the hotel is dated but it's an old building our room was large as was our bathroom and both were very clean and the food was very good as were the staff . Only slight problem with the rooms being so warm needed windows open very noisy at night from outside not in the hotel luckily we took earplugs . Nice to explore Eastbourne on our free day . Thankyou all at the Imperial hotel Kevin and Jenny from south Wales

"Luggage scam."

6.0

Spent 4 nights at imperial hotel Eastbourne and short break is value for money, but it's cheap as out of season. Party of pensioners from Caerphilly South Wales. Hotel typical daish, clean but needing updating. Twin room generous, food very good and two nights half price bar.Less said about the entertainment, but some liked it so can't please everyone. Now comes the negative luggage scam. Coach dropped us off, we sign in and told to leave luggage in foyer and it will be brought to our room shortly. Had a phone call to our room 15 minutes later, we'd have to get our own cases as they're too heavy? I went to reception on my own, 76 this year and took cases using the lift to the second floor on my own, ( Noticed the young porter in his 30s. who is incapable of managing the cases a pensioner can). In the room noticed a red tag stapled to each case highlighting it's over 15k. A few incidents outside hotel, car crash and gas leak. Phoned reception to ask about digging up outside and reception replied " what do expect me to do about it". So, to get back to my main issue. At evening meal on last night told to leave cases outside rooms at 6.30 am. and breakfast at 8. Coach leaving at 9. Had nice breakfast then went to reception to hand key in only to be handed a I'll for £20, which I was told for the overweight case? I told the very arrogant female receptionist, (which many other reviews mention her), why were we not told and what exactly is the charge for. She said there are notices everywhere, to which I replied, looking around the foyer, where? and she pointed to a small table 12 feet behind me and all I could see was a small pot plant. I said again where and she came behind the reception dest, walked over to the table and stood up a small cardboard sign saying g about overweight luggage. Si I said how is anyone supposed to see that to which she replied someone turned it over. I could see she was starting to get agitated and I said the logical think would to have a larger sign on the reception desk so everyone can see it when picking the room key up. So I said I not paying it as firstly I took the cases to the room and they were lighter at tge end of the holiday as I took out things like bottles of pop so the case is probably underweight now, but they don't weight the luggage at the end. I also questioned what exactly the money is for and she said as the driver has to get the luggage out of the coach. So I asked her if the driver gets the money and she said no, it's to do with health and safety. So I am baffled obviously but more so when you can take heavier luggage when staying for a longer break. So they can pick up 18kg. Cases just because your staying longer? It's obviously a scam, there is nothing in they're T&C on they're site about luggage charges and I have ever come across this in any uk hotel before. So I paid in the end and emailed them, but as I other negatives from other travellers nothing changes. All in all, still good value for money. Been to several daishs hotel breaks and will use again when I calm down.

"DON'T BOOK IT ( BAD BAD BAD )"

2.0

This hotel has charged us £10 for each case over 15kn my 75 year old dad had to collect them from reception. At no point were these costs highlighted to any of our 53 friends the receptionist was a very obnoxious person and she was very aggressive to me and others stamping her feet and shouting. I will never travel with daish hotels again they have now lost my custom so beware ..
