Chiado Central Apartment

Location is unbeatable. Right in the middle of all the happening places in Barrio Alto and a short walk from main shopping areas and Plaza de comercio. Spacious apartment with one king bed and a queen size sofa bed.

Bathroom was tight and the water temperature constantly changed between freezing cold to scalding hot during showers. Kitchen has no microwave, the single most important equipment for a short term rental. Third floor apartment without an elevator.

I loved everything about the apartment... Perfect location to start with. On a busy street but no disturbing noise (including the church bells across the street), very close to all forms of transport and within walking distance of many attractions, restaurants and bars. There is a breakfast shop right next door The apartment itself is very spacious, plenty of storage... big windows, airy and bright... nicely decorated, with all the necessary amenities. A bottle of water in the fridge was much appreciated - thank you. We didn't cook in the apartment but salt-pepper-olive oil-coffee and even cling film and paper towels were left. Communication and all instructions for getting in were clear and on time. We had no problems either getting in or out. The key (very nice and original) was in a lockbox on the door handle. The apartment is on the 3rd floor but the staircase is wide and easy to climb... no problems there We were lucky that the weather was warm (15 C) so it wasn't too cold in the apartment but there is a combi boiler in the kitchen so it was easy to control the radiators... The sofa bed is different from the pictures. It is now L-shaped. It was comfortable to sit on... So, in general thumbs up :)

It didn't bother us too much but the bed needs to be replaced :( Even sitting on the edge makes it creak and that's annoying. Yes the shower door doesn't close properly because of the plastic guard... It's easy to replace with a thinner guard of the right size. You should also put some kind of handle or knob on the door opening. It doesn't feel safe to put your finger in the glass opening. Another little thing mentioned in another comment was the gap in the bathroom door... Maybe you could apply a door draft stopper or plastic skirt vertically to the door to fix the problem... None of this changes our general opinion and our liking of the apartment though :)

There's lots to love about this place. It is in a great location and super convenient to the metro station. It has a cute & clean living space that is actually very spacious for a European apartment. The bed is very comfortable and there's lots of storage space. The wifi is reliable and high speed. The kitchen is fairly well stocked and there's a dishwasher & washing machine.

A few small things could be improved: the pillows on the bed were laughably uncomfortable, the kitchen was well-equipped except it didn't have any small pots/pans or a microwave, and the bathroom door doesn't seal closed so you can see into the living room the whole time you are in there. As a solo traveller the bathroom thing wasn't a big deal, but if you were travelling with someone who was sleeping in the living room on the couch, it would be pretty strange. The listing doesn't state there is a microwave so they aren't being misleading, it's just an inconvenience to try to reheat food. Lastly, the heat wasn't turned on and there didn't seem to be any way of controlling it, which meant it got quite cold at night so extra layers & blankets were needed to stay warm.

Nice and comfortable apartment in the city centre, close to all the attractions in the city, to cafe and restaurant. Spacious bedroom, perfect for a couple!

The keys were in a lockbox and the entrance access with a password.

We had to call the host in front of the building to get the password as it was not sent before the arrival. The city fees and the security deposit was not mentioned before the location payment.

Location was amazing. We travelled with a one year old toddler and the apartment was spacious for them to crawl around. Functional (basic) kitchen was great too. Other comments mentioned it was noisy - the windows keep out a lot of the noise which we were impressed with.

The bathroom wasn’t very clean on arrival and the shower temperature gage was broken which meant either a boiling or freezing shower (mostly a mix of both!).

I really liked the location, close to everything: monuments, nightlife, restaurants and bars. You really feel home here :) definitely I would come back

Unfortunately there were no soap or sponge for cleaning the dishes but other than that everything was great!

Need to sort the bathroom shower head leak, also more an observation and not a negative but that better toilet roll could be supplied as you end up using so much more anyway, and some more sachets of shower gel / shampoos

Excellent location, enough space for 3person. One night we forgot the key in our room and the door locket itself. It was pretty late at night but the staff came in half an hour with a key, super fast and kind

It’s super close to city center, but very noisy during night. No AC, it gets hot but you can’t open the window during night because if trafic noise. Apartment didn’t have one mirrror, not a single enough. Impsosible for woman to get ready. It wasn’t clean enough. It had none of the toiletries. Not enough towels, each of us get only 2towels, for a woman in her period that is just not enough.
