Cabanas chaac Calakmul

Amazing! The hut was way above our expectations, with a big modern bathroom and two double beds. The owners are super nice and you can get free drinking water. There's even a big shared fridge!

As in most places, this would also benefit from some hooks, even just big nails into the wooden walls, so things can be hung up. Of course shelves would be great, but not necessarily expected at this price. We had issues with a group being drunk and noisy in the common area one evening, but eventually the owners helped out and its not their fault anyway.

Good Location, cheap, in the middle of the nature. Met nice people there

You can hear people snoring, no real privacy, people look weird at you when you don't speak perfect Spanish. People there only give two word responses.

It's the closest place to Calakmul I could find. And, the ruins right in town are decent too.

It's really noisy. Not just noise from outside but noise from the neighboring rooms too due to the walls being so thin.

Rustic but clean, comfy, and mosquito net over bed. Nice owners let me check out late cos my tour finished just before check out time. Good warm shower!

There was quite loud music nearby in the evening but with ear plugs I could sleep through it.

There are not many options in Xpujil to reach Calakmul and this is a practical and economical option. They can help you book transport or a tour to Calakmul directly there, for a good price as it seems is negotiable since in our transport everybody paid something different.

The construction style is of a cottage which means you are exposed to bugs so I advise you to use Insect Repellent Spray all the time (even to go to sleep) there is a mosquito net (not big enough, so it's a bit tricky to tuck it in). The toilet had no toilet seat or lid, something you find often in economical stays in Mexico, but which I don't understand since is not that expensive to buy one in relation to the price of the stay.

The place was great for the price I paid for it. The beds have mosquito nets so you're protected. Each cabin had its own bathroom and toilet and the wifi worked very well in my cabin.
