Cabanas chaac Calakmul

Clean cabana, separate area with toilet and shower, a fan and a mosquito net. Small bakery and mini store across the street.

Nice little cabins with everything you need, a garden to chill and very friendly owners. Also I did the Tour to Calakmul via the hostel and it was an amazing experience. Totally recommed it

All was good

Great value for the price, set your expectations accordingly. The fan kept me cool enough at night, the bed was comfortable. It was clean enough, but not perfect. There are cats and dogs outside. They provide info that makes it easy to go to Calakmul and bus schedules.

The lighting is harsh, the design of the bathroom is awful, you have to sit sideways on the toilet as the sink is right in front of it. The shower spray goes towards the wall, so you have to lean into the wall to get wet. But it's decent for the price.

Nothing

There were bed bugs and variety of insects giving you company. Bathroom door does not close. Only one pedestal fan making room hot and damp. In an hour we couldn't take it anymore decided to move out and checkin into another better hotel. When checking out owner was kind enough to refund part of the amount. There was only one rating which rated 10. That should have raised the red flags.

A fridge for storing food. A mosquito net above the bed. An outside table to sit and chat to other people.

There is an opening between the walls and roof, allowing pests to come into the cabanas. Excepionally hot in the afternoon. I cannot eat at the outside table, as the dogs would be begging at your feet. Worst of all, there was a cat, that persistently jumped on the table, to grab your food off the plate. I shove the cat off the table, and it jumps back again. Very annoying and that is how i feel to the animal lovers that encourage cats to jump on the table and steal. It took my cup cake. Animals should not beg for food at any accommodation unit.
