The Villa Levens

All the staff were very friendly and welcoming, the room presented very well with excellent views over the countryside. Parking easy. Breakfast cooked to order. We stayed two nights and would stay again if in the area.

Nice hotel in a nice location. Staff are friendly and professional. Rooms are spacious and well appointed. Cleanliness is very good. My only complain was the bed was too soft for my liking, and they were a lot of pillows and cushions I had to move aside to use the bed, but otherwise no other complaints. Breakfast was very nice, and I had supper there too which was pretty good, with decent service pace.

Very good location as a stop over from Scotland. The hotel is really very nice, lovely grounds, nice bar and public rooms. Great breakfast. Our family room on the top floor was a bit stuffy, it could do with a proper air-con unit and the shower was a little tricky to get out of as you clamber over the bath rim. Very nice dinner too, although the steak was a little over-cooked.

The food was amazing great Hotel

First the positives: - the hotel is beautiful and the location is equally gorgeous. - the breakfast and dinner were ok, but not great for the price. - the walk from the hotel to the Levens House is stunning and cannot be recommended enough. - the staff were friendly and flexible with (slightly late) dinner and traditional high tea bookings. The negatives - the rooms are VERY warm in the summer an there is no air conditioning. - there were water-cooled fans in the room, but neither of them actually worked properly. When I tried to refill the water buckets, it was clear that that they had NEVER been cleaned, so probably clogged with dirt. - no gym or pool - no shower or shampoo I’m one room. - one room was not tidied, water replaced, one of the 4 days. - black mould on silicone in bathroom (could be easily removed with bleach, why is it left?)

The Villa was a nice, clean, decent hotel. Nice dinner, good choice of drinks, but quite an average breakfast. Very frustrating WiFi when you expect much better these days. Fortunate that hotels in Kendal aren’t particularly salubrious.

This was a great find. We had a family room that was great and dog friendly. The room was a good size with 2 proper single beds rather than a pull out sofa bed like most hotel family rooms. The only downside was that the room was very hot and the air conditioning unit wasn't very good and the bathroom needed a bit of TLC i.e re grouting around the bath etc Straight from the hotel we found some amazing walks for the dog. The staff were super nice and friendly and we can't wait to stay here again.

Had a great weekend stay! Staff are really nice. Had a bit of a hiccup with one of the showers but staff made up for all of that.

Booked as a pit stop en route down the country, so I didn't really explore properly, but the staff were extremely helpful & friendly & the room was great
